lets set the picture:

you are killing vampires and either you get bit as you deal a killing blow or it’s a stereotypical vampire female

despite now probably going the vampire transformation process you still show up to your work because pay

despite the dangers of the job, and making one of the biggest sacrifices for humanity your pay is getting cut

now you are a vampire or a guy transforming into one, that made one of the biggest sacrifices someone could make in the line of work to get his pay cut, in this economy

you have the following options:

A) keep working for a worse pay with the constant threat of being incarcerated or killed by the coworkers you have most likely known for a long time and may have befriended

or

-B) defect for the vampire side for a maybe better pay and better working conditions since hopefully nobody will actively try to kill you and can become the underling for the vampire that bit you while at the same time being hunted down by your old coworkers that you have known and befriended

which one you choose?
