Aila's POV
Drip Drip Drop
I really hate rain
My clothes always get wet, the dripping sound as raindrops fall annoys me and it's incredibly cold. Nothing good comes out of it
I stared at the clock tower checking what time is it now: 16:30 ; thirty minutes until the next bus will arrive
Drip Drip Drop
"Ahh, so annoying" I muttered irritatedly as the rain keeps on pouring harder and harder.
" I agree, it is annoying" startled by the sudden voice, I looked back then I saw him; a man with a red muffler wrapped around his neck
"Excuse me?" I said back
"The sound of rain is usually soothing but I for one, find it absolutely annoying." The man stated strongly; his face all scrunched up showing his annoyance
"That's exactly my point" I glimpsed the time at the clock tower again. My fingers were numb from the cold air so I rubbed them together trying to get the numbness to subside at least a little.
Drip Drip Drop
It's getting colder by the second the rain keeps on pouring
"Are you alright?" The man asked me worriedly; he must've noticed I was shivering because of the cold
"No, I'm not alright." Well, that's just strange, I usually say I'm alright even I am not.
Maybe because he's just a stranger I happened to bump into
A simple stranger who I will never meet again unless by coincidence
"You're really not alright, you're cold. Look at you, shivering while rubbing your hands." this guy, I don't know if he's caring or just nosy
"So what? What if I'm cold? What are you going to do about it? By giving me your muffler?" My eyes widen as I just realized what I crazily blurted out. Me and my mouth
The man stared at me. Maybe he's trying to understand what I just said although there's no need to given that's it's crazy talk
We stared at each other; not saying a single thing
Then there is just silence but the sound of the rain
Drip Drip Drop
Suddenly, my ears perked up, I looked at my left breaking my gaze at him. Finally, there it is: the bus
I was about to hop on as the door opened-
"Here." I was surprised. The man just wrapped his muffler around me stopping from going inside.
"What the?" I froze up, Having absolutely no clue what to do
"Aren't you going in? Youngsters these days, tsk." The driver said closing up the door then the last bus just went away. Just like that.
"Wait! I'm so sorry, I should have known you're going in, I didn't mean to stop you and I mean-"
The man kept on blabbing; obviously flustered and feeling guilty at what he just did. How cute, wait what?
"Give me a second, here! Accept this, I'll just run to the next stop." he gave me his umbrella. Now, he's making me feel bad then I thought of something
As he was about to run off I stopped him, tugging his shirt then I opened the umbrella; sharing it with him
"Come closer, I made you feel bad by making me miss the bus and you made me feel bad by giving me your umbrella in this pouring rain. We're even so let just call quits."
"But you'd be uncomfortable." He said; his hands waving down to deny my offer
"Just hold the umbrella. You're taller than me so do it." I insisted as he gave up, now holding the umbrella and squeezed closer to me so we both won't get wet
"And thank you for the muffler"
"No problem, thank you for sharing the umbrella"
"Although, it's yours." I chuckled letting out a smile
"By the way, your name?"
Drip Drip Drop
We talked all throughout the rain, I didn't mind the sound of it as I hear his voice along with it. Maybe, the rain wasn't so bad after all.
