Project B-1057

Episode 6

Episode 6

Apr 24, 2022

I got out the door just in time to see the worker that lived in this room, turn the corner. My heart was beating so fast because I know I had just been caught and he would send me back to containment. I noticed that he didn't have his glasses on. Maybe I was safe. "Hey Shawn, Eli wants you in the lab, something about a new substance." This dude was talking to me. Did he think I was Shawn? I know we have pretty similar hair color, but he's like thirty that's fifteen years older than me. Shawn was one of the workers in Max's section he was a fire user. How could he mistake me for him? "Oh yeah! They have also nicknamed the substance B, it stands for Boggax." he said this last thing before going into his room. Boggax? Is that what the B in the note stands for? What do the numbers stand for? What does that chemical do to my body? Will it kill me? This information arose more questions than it answered. I had to figure out what this meant, but to do that I would have to sneak into the lab. They don't leave the door to the lab unlocked, this means that I will have to steal a key from one of the workers or get someone else to. I knew that Dylan could do it, but I didn't have any more blackmail or money to give him. Chloe would do anything I asked her to, I didn't want to get her in trouble and ruin her reputation though. Max could do it too, he seemed mad earlier though. I guess I'm doing this myself.

The workers who have keys to the lab are usually the people who do the blood tests. Eli is one of the ones that do blood tests, he does them for the younger kids though. Eli is the only one that acted like the kids here are humans. When I say he acted like we were humans, I mean that he didn't beat us to the brink of death. He still didn't give us any special attention or try to stop the beatings, but he would try to avoid doing it himself. I knew that he couldn't just give me the key because all the workers were being constantly watched by the higher-ups like White Fang. I don't think he would give me the key either way. I had to steal the key from his room. He left his room for about thirty minutes at four in the morning, no one knows where he goes. Everyone talks about it though.

He doesn't t go to the lab, so he wouldn't need the key. He must leave the key in his room. I need to go to his room at four in the morning that's like eight hours from now. I need to hide for eight hours. Where can I hide for eight hours? I can hide in Chloe’s room. I know all the places in the rooms where the adults don't check. I only know this because I hide in Chloe’s room when they come to check and I’m not supposed to be there. I need to get to her room without the workers knowing. This should be easy enough, all the workers should be getting to their rooms by now. I started walking to Chloe’s room, her room was only a few hallways away from the worker’s. The workers had their own hallway of rooms and the rest of the hallways were for the kids. The hallways always had at least twenty or so empty rooms. The empty rooms were there because the workers had to have enough rooms for the kids that got shipped to the lab every two months. To get to Chloe’s room I tried to keep a low profile and stick to the walls. This tactic was going well until I was about to turn a corner when I heard yelling at hitting. I took a peek around the corner and I saw a kid being hit and yelled at for not being inside his room after the blood test. The worker was about to look this way so I ducked behind the corner again. I had to avoid this worker, so I have to go the long way to get to Chloe’s room. I got a fairly long distance away, but I still heard yelling, this kid was being yelled at for not going to his room directly after blood testing. It had been a while since the blood test, but they should expect people to try and sneak out. You can't raise someone in captivity for their whole life and expect them not to rebel.

I want to help the kid, so much. If I did that though I would be in even more trouble with the workers. I can't afford to be in even more trouble right now, but I can't just stand by when I see some kid being beaten for something the workers should expect from kids. The workers think they are so much better than everyone here just because they have the power to defend themselves. The reality of this is that they aren't better than us, it’s just the fact they decide to fight decays or the ones without any power to fight back. The workers are weak, the only fighting they do is something they know they can win against which is why they don't fight back against White Fang. I decided to go see if the kid was being beaten to the verge of death and if it was worth it to help him. I know this is a cruel way to see if I should help him, but I have problems that I’m dealing with right now. I got back to the kid and he was kneeling on the floor in a pool of his blood. The worker was standing over him with a wooden bat in her hand. She was just yelling at him while occasionally hitting him if he tried to speak or get up. My body started moving on its own again. I was running towards the worker just like I did with White Fang. White Fang, he’s the reason I’m in this mess, he sent me here. The more I thought about that, the more I wanted to punch someone or fight someone. The lights went out again, but only in this hallway. I got closer to the worker until I was in front of her and her wooden bat.
