Julia walked us over to Lapis’ house. He was outside with his older brother, Phantom. He was draped over his brother’s shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Unlike Lapis, his hair was black just like Julia’s and Jupiter’s. “Hey nerds,” Phantom said. “Hey everyone,” Lapis said, putting his arm up. Phantom was the definition of Brandon. That one older brother that loves to tease the younger brother. Phantom put him down and looked at me. “What happened to your arm?” he asked. “Car accident,” I said. “Hm. Well, I guess I’ll let him go. Ash, call me whenever you’re open,” Phantom said, pointing at me. “Okay,” I sighed. “Let me go and grab some markers so we can sign that damn thing,” Phantom said, starting for the house. “I got some. Ahead of schedule but here,” I said, pulling markers out of my pocket. “Cool,” he said, walking over to us.
He grabbed one and so did the others. “Kid friendly, Julia,” Robyn said. “Kid friendly, my ass,” Julia said. She wrote her name and instead of a dot above the i, she did a heart. Same thing with Lapis but he wrote, “love you.” Julia wrote “loser” and Robyn signed it and wrote a ‘v’ over the ‘s’ in loser. Phantom just said ‘get well soon -Phantom.’ “Rude,” Julia said, handing me her pink marker. “Whatever babe,” Robyn said, handing me their red marker. Phantom had black and Lapis of course had blue. “We should get going,” Lapis said. “See ya later,” Phantom said, waving and going towards the house.
We got lunch and went to a park. The park was quiet. We talked about life and what’s going to happen after we all graduate. “We all should get married and have kids,” I said. Robyn choked and Julia patted them on the back. “What makes you say that?” Lapis asked, putting his fork on the tray. “We have dated for well over two years. When you graduate, Lapis, we would have been dating for about seven,” I said. “What about kids?” Lapis asked. “Julia’s bird tattoos. Why stop at three?” I said. “Three?” Robyn said. “Yeah, I don’t have one for myself,” Julia said. “Well, why not? We all clearly love each other. We can,” Lapis said, standing up and shouting. “Calm down, Cupid,” Julia said, grabbing him by the arm.
We hung until about 12:45. We had to go home and get ready for the orientation, mainly Lapis had to. I walked Robyn home and Julia walked Lapis home. I felt my phone vibrate. I checked it, expecting to see that Jupiter texted me something else. It wasn't. It was an unknown number. "What's up with you?" Robyn asked. "Nothing, just nothing," I said. I noticed I stopped in the road. I started to walk again while reading the message. Hey Ash! It's me, Brandon. I managed to hack into your phone to send this. I found some things. When you are open to chat, come to the system of life. I sent the number, which is titled "Glitch", 'okay and caught up with Robyn.
