Otta, the axolotoo, was swimming near the Great Barrier Reef, and was nearing land. As the waves propelled her through the water, she thought to herself, E, because many axolotoos think of the fifth letter of the English alphabet at random times. She climbed onto shore, and as she did so she spotted a tidepool.
"Ah, the perfect place to lay my eggs!" She ran over to it, dipped her paw in the water, and laid twenty tiny eggs.
~*~
A man wearing a white robe approached the tidepool. He knew about the axolotoos in the area, and wanted to learn more about them by collecting a few eggs. He pulled a vial out of his chest pocket and put it in the water, carefully, as to not harm the eggs. Two tiny eggs slid into the vial, and the man felt that was enough, so he put a lid on the vial.
~*~
The two eggs mentioned before had developed very well during the two timeskips that you can see above, which are the ~*~'s, and were just about ready to hatch. They were in a small fish tank on a bench outside of the building that the man, also mentioned before, works in. The eggs started shaking, and out of the first one to hatch came a small, blue, what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing with wings. Out of the other egg hatched another, small, orange, what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing with wings and a unicorn horn.
The older what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing looked over to his sister, and spoke; "Woah, what?"
She looked at him, confused, as she floated around the tank. "Woah, what? what?"
He looked at her weird "No, what?" Just as his sister was about to say something, he interrupted "NO, LiKe what are we doing why??" He floated out of the tank randomly, and his sister followed suit.
The unnamed, orange, what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing looked at her brother "Wait... do we have names? I feel we're going to cause quite a bit of fourth-wall-breaking if we don't have names."
They landed in the tidepool that their mother, Otta, had laid her eggs in, and a wave came ashore and dragged them into the ocean.
The other unnamed, blue, what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing yelped, and looked at his sister. "You should be shell"
The sister thought for a moment, and replied "You should be azul"
And thus their names are Shell and Azul. yay no more fourth-wall-breaking q^q
They swam further into the reef, enjoying the cool currents. Azul did a barrel roll, as Shell spun around all sorts of random.
"WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE," Shell screeched, as she literally tossed and turned throughout the current. She had her eyes closed, and thus she couldn't see where she was going.
"Uhh, Shell??" Azul stopped doing barrel rolls.
"What?" Shell turned to face him, but her momentum caused her to crash into a giant, underwater pyramid. "OOF-"
She bounced off the side, unharmed, and into Azul.
"Shell, are you alright?!" Azul asked her worriedly.
"Yeah, the impact just shocked me a bit..." She turned to face the pyramid. "Woah, a temple similar in appearance to Bill Cipher!"
"It's called a pyramid. How I know this, I don't know," Azul remarked.
"Oh, uh," his sister replied. "Let's go inside it!" She grabbed ahold of Azul's right wing, and swam towards the entrance.
"Woah, woah, Shell are you sure??" Azul turned to face his sister.
"YEP!" She swam with much force, and before they knew it, they were inside the dark interior of the massive temple's entranceway.
"EEK! Why's it so dark in here? And why does it smell like..." Azul gave a sniff, "Bananas? How I know what bananas smell like, I don't know," Azul remarked, as he wriggled out of Shell's grasp.
"Oh, uh," his sister replied. "Let's go inside it! Some more!" She grabbed ahold of Azul's right wing, and swam towards another entrance.
Azul and Shell emerged inside of the main room of the pyramid, and on the back wall of it was a giant symbol that appeared to be a fat waterfowl.
"What is that??" the slightly younger what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing screeched in a loud voice.
An unknown force lifts Azul's head floof, revealing the same symbol over his eye.
"You have the same symbol on your F A C E !" the slightly younger what-appeared-to-be-what-is-actually-called-a-catsolotl-yet-for-the-sake-of-you-don't-know-this-yet-so-this-is-an-axolotl-cat-fish-thing screeched in a loud voice.
There just so happens to be a mirror on the wall, and so Azul looks into it. "Woah, it is the same." His fur then gently sets back down over his eye.
"Hey, brobro, what's that over there?" Shell gestures to a little entrance above the giant symbol on the back wall.
"First off, don't call me brobro." He grabbed his sister's grabbing paw and dragged it away from himself gently. "Second, I've got no idea!"
They both stared into the dark, ominous entrance, before Shell grabbed ahold of Azul's right wing, and swam towards the entrance, which was about the size of a cat. As they entered the mysterious room, they sensed a presence. A rather familiar one, at that.
"Banana, look! Two of the kids found the temple!!!"
