Completely out of breath, Maurice let out a scream of joy. He wanted to jump around, letting the pure delight out of his shivering body. But everything felt heavy like metal, weighting down the joy. The brown shadow in the white in white scenery seemed so far away. Small steps, very small steps the weak legs were taking. The wooden cabin was so close, almost reachable. Before he could grab the handle, his body gave up and collapsed under the freezing cold air.
Subconsciously he heard someone come closer. Heavy steps and deep breaths. The prince wanted to get up and run but could only lift his face before crashing back into the snow seconds later. He couldn’t and didn’t want to move nor run anymore. There was no way out and if they wanted to kill him, now was the perfect time. Therefore, he closed his eyes and breathed in the icy air, like his father taught him. Seconds later the prince blacked out.
“Hey!” A loud and strong voice assured above him. Strong hands grabbed his shoulder and pulled his face out of the white powdery snow. He could feel the persons presence, a lovely warmth came from them. He tried to open his eyes. His eyelids felt heavy, and the snow made the feeling far worse.
Maurice was too exhausted to say anything, but the person seemed to know exactly what to do. With a little huff he got lifted, he felt them moving but seconds later he blacked out again.
“Hey! Little one, wake up.” A soft slap on his cheeks then a stronger one. The normally stinging feel was numbed. Finally, he could open his eyes and a relive sigh from the person in front of him, who stole a little smile on the burning cheeks of Maurice.
“Now you’re smiling. Few seconds ago, I though you stopped breathing!” The low and strong voice rattled through Maurice’s head. A lovely accent was humming threw his ears. His eyes tried to catch the fast movement of the hands, gesturing into the quite chill air.
The dirty blond lad tried to get up. After sitting up straight in what felt like fure. His head immediately fell backwards. The next sensation was the strong and velvety hands of the person with the deep voice, holding his head in place. One knee between his thighs. Normally the prince would let no one in Meraki get this close. He would immediately absorb the person energy and most of the time it wasn’t a good energy at all. But now he longed after the pleasant feeling of warmth. He could feel their breath on his skin. His heart skipped a few beats, while racing faster than usually. They smelled like heaven. Wouldn’t he want this warmth so bad the other would already be on the floor, while being heavily cursed at.
The uncomfortable feeling started to pack up as the person started caressing the burning red cheeks. “A bit too much?” They smelled pleasantly and Maurice almost lost his mind just thinking about the scent of this person. His eyes tried to focus, rolling back and forth. His muscle control was nowhere to be found. “Still in another realm…” A deep but memorable giggle could be heard, and Maurice was sure that this wasn’t his voice. Seconds later the prince was back into the pitch-black sea of nothing.
“Little one?” The rough deep voice assured again. Maurice’s face didn’t feel as stone-cold as before, and he could feel his hands as well as his feet again. They were tingling unpleasantly, but the worries of losing his limbs were gone. He opened his eyes, this time with ease and stared right into sapphire blue. His jaw dropped he saw the rare colour right in front of his eyes. His Grandfather declared it as the rarest in this realm because only the gods were able to make it.
“Maurice.” Stated the prince with a shy smile while he reached out his hand to the stranger. The blue was noticeable surprised by the gesture. However, he copied Maurice’s movement and shook his hand. “Pardon?” The melodic accent was felt through every realm and every bone Maurice owned. Shaking of the feeling of wanting this accent deep inside him, he continued.
“I’m Maurice and you?” Still smiling the prince sat straight in the bed he was laying on. The man seemed to brough him inside the wooden cabin he wanted to reach so desperately. It was lovely warm inside, and he was surrounded by fure. He realized that he was somewhat awake before but pushed the thought, of the sapphire blue being closer to him then right now far away.
“Alexander.” Maurice nodded wild while he kept his strong gaze on the mesmerizing blue.
“I must get some firewood. If I find you outside,” He pointed to the door leading outside, brows furrowed and eyes burning through Maurice skin. “I’ll chain you to the oven.” The man let out a little growl at the end of his sentence before leaving the warmth and Maurice. The prince couldn’t even really digest the thread before the man was already out of the sight. The door fell shut and Maurice was alone, again.
The prince wasn’t sure what to do. He really wanted to leave after all that happened. But the deep blue wouldn’t all too happy about that decision. So, he stayed in the hope the man was coming back as he said he would. The silence slowly got to Maurice and his thoughts started to wander and rewind the past few days.
Six nights ago, he left home. He left his fathers, best friend, and his people to prove himself that he was worth everyone already saw in him. But Maurice never saw the shining amore dressed Knight and the strong handed King in himself. He was shy, liked to be outside and let the sun warm up his usually cold skin. Nevertheless, he was never the type that liked to be around other people or even command them. He wanted peace and freedom, what he got now. Even though it had cost many lives on the way.
With a loud crack the curved door opened and the men with the devilish blue eyes stood there. The light coming from outside made him look like an angel. An ethereal creature that was here to help the prince out of all this chaos. Maybe after all that had happened, Maurice died too and is now in his own paradise. Accompanied by his own angel. A beautiful raven haired angel, with a voice that would even make a future King kneel, begging for mercy.
