On September 8th, 2049 Tragedy struck the civilians at Hamilton Park. Jace was only 5 years of age as he and his father walked through the park with their ice cream. "Daddy! Daddy! Can I go play with the geese at the pond, please!" Jace's father kneels down to the ground to face Jace. "Sure kiddo, just stay safe please, and don't go any further than the old oak tree. " He points to the old oak tree right by the edge of the water. "Okay, daddy!" Little Jace screams towards his dad as he runs towards the pond. It was almost 7 o'clock when Jace's father called for Jace, "Jace! It's time to head home for dinner!" ... No response was heard from Jace. "JACE?! WHERE ARE YOU, KIDDO?!" Jace comes from the opposite direction running from the playground, crying. "DADDY!!" "What's wrong! Why are you crying!?" Jace whispers to his dad in a panicked tone, "There was a scary man who was chasing me." "What?" He begins surveying the area, as he spots people running quickly from the park." "Jace. Grab your stuff and let's get out of here. Now." BANG! A gunshot is heard ringing through the screams of parents and children. "Jace, Run." Jace feels his father's hand slip from his shoulder as he continues running forward through the crowd. Gunshots continue to ring through the park as the crowd dies down when reaching the edge of the road. "Daddy? Where are you?" Jace sobs out into the now silent street. "Daddy..." Police sirens ring through the empty street. Police run from their cars, one stopping right in front of Jace. "Kid, are you okay." She grabs his hands and face,  checking for anything wrong before taking his hand and walking him to another police waiting by his car. "Is he the only one left?" "I think so." "Is...hur-...What... Parents?" Jace looks at the police quickly, "Where's my daddy?" "We don't know yet, kiddo. We are currently looking for anyone else. So, for now, we will take you to the station and try to find your family." "...okay." By 9:13 P.M it had been announced that 4 people had died and 7 were injured during the park shooting, one being Jace's father. Every day after the incident, Jace would be beaten and abused by his mother, as she slowly became more and more addicted to alcohol.
