“Welcome, Ivan. Please take an empty seat,” Mrs. Blink said, gesturing towards the seats filled with students.

The class’s mood seemed to have shifted as they started to give Ivan the stink eye.

“Thank you, Mrs. Blink,” Ivan then began walking down the aisles of students trying to find an empty seat.

He finally found one behind Carina. He sat down and took out a notebook and quill to write with.

“Ok, class your assignment is to make a short story describing one of your worst days you have ever had in your life. Make sure it is told through second person as if I was the one who was having a bad day. You may begin,” Mrs. Blink said, taking a seat back into her desk. She then began to grade papers.

Carina turned around to see Ivan hard at work on his assignment.

“You never told me you were transferring to my school!” Carina whispered to Ivan.

Ivan looked up, surprised to see Carina. “I just found out less than a few minutes ago without any warnings. You know how my parents are,” Ivan whispered back.

“Well you could’ve texted me!” Carina whispered.

“During class? I didn’t want to get you in trouble,” Ivan whispered blushing, rubbing the back of his neck with his right arm.

Carina blushed.

She then turned back around and began working on her story.

After class, Carina was walking with her friends when Ivan flew to her side, “What class do you have next?”

“Physical Education,” Carina said. “Anemos, Rayn, Damian, and I all have the next class together.”
“How sad,” Payton said, with a sad face. “I have Mr. Huxley next period.”

“I heard he’s pretty generous as long as you aren’t on his bad side,” Anemos said, reassuringly.

“I hope so,” Payton sighed. “Well, this is my class. I’ll see you guys at lunch,” Payton waved, walking into the class.

“See ya, Pay!” Anemos waved.

“See you later,” Rayn said.

“Bye,” Damian said.

“See ya,” Carina said.

“This is my class too. See you guys later,” Ivan waved, flying to Payton.

Carina, Rayn, Damian, and Anemos then made it to Physical Education and got into their gym clothes.

Rayn walked out with her blue hair in a high ponytail and she wore a black tight tank top with blue yoga pants. Damian wore black gym shorts with a gray shirt. Anemos wore a white v-neck shirt and black gym shorts. Carina wore her blonde hair up at the top of her head in a messy bun. She wore a pink tight tank top with black yoga pants.

They all began stretching.

“So...you and Payton?” Damian said, trying to start a conversation.

“Payton and I...what?” Anemos said, confused.

“Do you like her?” Damian asked.

Anemos blushed.

“I’m not sure, but it’s too soon. I’ve still got feelings for someone else too,” Anemos said, looking at Carina.

Carina’s face turned pink in embarrassment.

“How are you and Rayn doing?” Anemos said, as he watched Rayn jog off to go do a lap on the track.

Damian blushed. “We’re doing pretty good.”

“Have you guys kissed yet?” Anemos asked, jogging beside Carina and Damian towards the track.

“Uh...no,” Damian said. “We’ve only been on one date and have hung out twice so far.”

“Do you want to kiss her?” Anemos asked, genuinely curious.

“I mean...yeah. Why wouldn’t I?” Damian said.

“You know she wants to kiss you too. She just doesn’t want to rush you. She said she’s ready when you’re ready,” Carina said.

“It’s not that I’m not ready...I’m just waiting for the perfect moment,” Damian confessed.

“That makes sense,” Anemos said.

After they finished running they met back up with Rayn, who was sitting on a bench drinking from a plastic water bottle.

“What’d coach say we’re doing today?” Anemos asked.

“Dodgeball,” Rayn said, closing her water bottle and setting it down on the bench.

Damian then took a seat by Rayn.

“I actually like Dodgeball,” Anemos confessed.

“Me too,” Carina said.

“Same,” Damian said.

“I do too,” Rayn said.

After Physical Education, they went to their next class and then went to lunch.

“Should we sit outside today? It feels lovely outside today,” Anemos said, looking at Carina.

“Together?” Carina said, following Anemos outside.

“Yeah,” Anemos said.

“Don’t you want to sit with your group of friends?” Carina asked.

“Nah. They won’t miss me anyway,” Anemos said.

“Alright. It’s fine with me,” Carina said, shrugging her shoulders.

They then found a seat underneath a golden tree and then Carina took out her phone to find a text from Rayn.

Hey girl! Where are you guys at?

Hey! We’re outside at our usual 

spot under the tree.

Cool. Damian, Ivan, Payton, and I will be

there in a second.

Sounds good! :D

“Hey, look,” Anemos said, pointing at Payton. “There’s Payton.”

Payton then came into view better. She was talking to Ivan and laughing.

“Why do I kinda want to shove Payton and grab Ivan’s hand? Payton’s a good person. Wait...am I jealous?” Carina thought to herself.

Payton and Ivan then walked over and sat down in front of Carina and Anemos.

“Where’s Rayn and Damian?” Carina asked.

“They went to go get something from the vending machines,” Ivan answered.

“Oh ok,” Carina said, putting a grape in her mouth.

“Hey guys!” Aydan said with a huge smile.

“Oh, hey Aydan,” Carina said.

“This seat taken, Ivan?” Aydan asked.

“Nope. All yours,” Ivan said.

Aydan then took a seat. “Thanks. I’ll save a seat for Esme.”

Rayn and Damian then walked over to laughing.

“Man you guys should’ve seen it!” Rayn said, laughing as she sat down with Damian.

“What happened?” Anemos asked.

“This dude went to go get a drink and the drink got stuck! He got so mad he shook the whole vending machine and the drink still didn’t fall! Then I walked over and tapped the glass with my knuckle and the drink fell! He then gave me a really smug look and I said ‘you’re welcome’ and walked away! It was hilarious! You should’ve seen his face!” Rayn laughed.

They all then laughed.

Esme then walked over. “What’s so funny?”

“A story Rayn just told us,” Aydan said. “I saved you a seat.” He gestured to the seat next to him.

“Thanks, Aydan,” Esme said sitting down. She began to blush.

Aydan then grabbed her hand in his and made her blush more.

“Anyone have plans for this Friday?” Aydan asked.

“No,” Everyone said in unison except for Aydan.

“Cool. There’s this Autumn Festival happening downtown and I was wondering if you guys wanted to go? There will be games, food, crafts, and prizes” Aydan said.

“I’ll go. It sounds fun,” Esme said with a smile.

“I’ll go too,” Anemos said.

“Me too,” Payton said.

“Why not?” Ivan said with a smile.

“Yeah!” Rayn said, getting excited.

“Sure,” Damiand said.

“Sure, it sounds fun,” Carina said with a smile.

“Awesome, everyone meet there by seven. Ok?” Aydan.

“Ok,” Anemos said.

Everyone else nodded.

“Perfect,” Aydan said.
