THE BREAKING OF THE WORLD

Mountains shook, the ground split open, and the sun burned all beneath as our shield fell. What remained of the waters rose and entered into the land as our world revolted after eons of damage. As the world ended, the Eranr; demons from the dark side of the moon, invaded subtly and released the airborne moon virus into our atmosphere.

On October eleven, 2076. Eleven days after this subtle invasion, the entire world fell asleep for exactly 18.2 seconds. Some woke unchanged, some more woke changed in ways they didn't yet know, others woke only to become warped monsters as their minds buckled under the weight of trans-dimensional forces, most did not wake at all.

In our darkest hour, the Rohiren came. More beautiful than we could comprehend, savage, and powerful enough to vanquish the Eranr invaders. They built safe zones for us to live in, protected from the dangers of our world. Natural and unnatural.

Outside the safe zones, the humans that refused the conditional help of the Rohiren tried to survive in a changing world. Those that became monsters were warped in mind body and soul, they were mad with hunger, not for flesh or food but for the power that dwelled in those that became changed in ways they didn't yet know. The monsters were called The Ardent.

Those that were changed in ways they didn't yet know soon began to display wondrous abilities that increased the odds of their survival in a new violent world. They were called the moon blessed, and the twelve distinct gifts that were recorded by the Primary prophetess Consuela as as follows;

A January is as swift as swift goes
A February flies without reason
A March is a friend to terra's simpler folk
An April always heals whatever ails are given

That May might pull your strings
This June can cause new bloom
A July cares not with which form it sings
There is always an August in the room

A September storm is ominous
Nothing is too hard for October to reason
Novembers are rare, mysterious, and dangerous
A December will be coming for you soon.
