Dying sucks. Darkness. Nothingness. Left all alone except for a frosty breeze that blew gently against my… ummm conscience.
My body was definitely gone. I could no longer feel my long black hair blowing across my back. My tan skin had been reduced to nothing. I could only assume my hazel eyes had also vanished as I floated like plankton in the sea.
It felt as though it had been years, I thought to myself, nothing but hatred and plans to seek revenge drifted through my mind.
Sadly, those thoughts were the only things keeping me sane. However, eventually, something began happening.
I was being formed into something. It was as if I was clay being formed in a blunder I felt as if my soul was being dragged and pulled.
I was finally growing used to the pain when I saw-chlichè as it sounded- a white light appear and I felt myself unconsciously drifting towards it.
After what felt like another millennium, I had finally arrived and now was my time. I eagerly anticipated what was to come. Maybe I had been formed into some celestial being tasked with seeking revenge. Or perhaps I would be reborn as some badass dragon. Either way, I looked forward to what was ahead.
As the white light reached its apex, however, I began to see what was waiting on the other side.
Oh, what the fu—
Vibrant lights suddenly overwhelmed my visual cortex as I struggled to adapt to the new change in scenery. Huddled around me was what I could only assume would be my new family. They had been there even as I finished the journey out of my new mother’s…. yea.
My exposed body was quickly inspected by countless doctors-although they looked more like robotic specimens than humans-as they examined every, and unfortunately, I mean every, part of my body.
Not even two minutes into this new world and I already felt violated.
The torment came to an abrupt stop as the doctor handed me back to my mother and passionately spoke, “Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Aphelion, you have a healthy young boy.”
My mother was clearly ecstatic while the person who seemed to be my father was failing at concealing his joy under a more professional look. He stood straight, but not stiff, reaching probably close to 6’4’’ with a masculine face accompanying him. He wore a formal black coat which gave me heavy military vibes. His undershirt was a white collared shirt with an amber tie. The top of his broad shoulders was outfitted with the same amber color, stroked with whatever you call those fancy gold things that ever-so-gracefully fall down. To no surprise, the front of his jacket was also decorated with what seemed to be very important medals of his brave deeds and triumphs. His wavy silver hair and dark brown eyes were a nice touch.
I can see where this is going.
“What shall be his first name,” started the doctor who seemed to be the senior, “So we may list him in the registry.”
My parents exchanged a meaningful glance before my father so eloquently spoke, “He’s to be named Cronus of HighStar Aphelion.”
Just when I thought he was done, he continued, “First of his name, and fifth in line to the Star-Throne of Aphelion,” my father stated proudly.
Oh great, so it seems I am going to be spending some time with some stuck-up snobby nobles in the future. Regardless, being born into a high stature will definitely help me speed up the process.
However, as I looked around I noticed that there wasn’t much need for any process. While I struggled to even control the most basic motor functions, I could still see outside of a massive window that took up the whole space of the wall. I'm sure my eyes would have widened-if they weren’t so tired-as I grasped all of what I had just been born into.
A grandiose space station appeared to be stretching out across and behind the entire planet that we seemed to be built around. The planet itself was impressive, orange lights were illuminated from the structures below as they stretched across the entire globe. The sphere reminded me of my old planet, Earth, with its more natural aspects. Grand oceans separated massive continents that from here almost seemed like broken apart puzzle pieces.
I counted 3 different continents from the position of my hospital bed. I waited as long as I could for the rotation of our space station to reveal more parts to the puzzle, but it never did. Eventually, I grew tired and I finally succumbed to my drowsy state.

I woke up to the gentle nudge of my beautiful mother. Similar to my father, she had long silver hair that gracefully rested on her shoulders despite hours of child-birth and resting. Her sky-blue eyes carried nothing but love as she looked down on me. Unlike my father, she was dressed in much more casual attire though I couldn’t blame her considering…
My eyes went on to wander around the room in search of the others but it appeared everyone else had left. There had been three other children-none older than teens-who had welcomed me. Assuming they were my siblings I still wondered where the last one may have been. Aside from them, an elderly woman had stood by my father’s side. Although she was so far from me, I still remember practically feeling the love radiating from that old woman.
Finally, there appeared to be 4 other-what I hoped were-servants that had been in the room caring for my new family.
I wonder, “Are you hungry my little baby,” my mother, who had interrupted my thought, asked sweetly.
The word hunger must have made my body-conscious of my empty stomach because it instantly began to growl. So I did what I thought a normal baby would do and smiled innocently at my mother as she prepared me a bottle.
