Three days have passed since I was born. Similar to all newborns I felt a sense of weakness and dependency. There was an overwhelming difference though. I felt stronger than I had as a kid in my previous life.
My body trembled at the thought of the first few days of my new life. After I had been fed, doctors came and swept me away. They ran tests and whatever else on me which had made me feel even wearier of this new world. However, as I lay awake now, I felt a strength unparalleled to that of possibly even a teen.
I continued to ponder for a minute until a loud knock intruded on my thoughts. My father, accompanied by two beautiful women-who I assumed was our servants-came through the door and stopped at the foot of the bed where my mother and I were resting.
“Good news,” started my father, “Today is the day little Cronus gets to go home.” My mother’s shocked face that she held upon their arrival quickly broke into a smile at the “good news”.
“Oh that’s wonderful, did the doctors finish examining and awakening him?”
My father’s eyes gleamed with pride as he spoke, “They sure did, he was born with an A-class orb which means he had a high chance of developing an attribute.”
A-Class Orb? Attributes? What was he talking about?
“I knew our boy was special,” my mother managed to get out during her display of excitement, “Oh this is amazing, do you think he’ll manage to become a Rigel?”
My father considered for a moment before answering, “It’s definitely possible, but he will have to work very hard to grow his Orb’s energy class.”
Energy Class? Was that what he was referring to when he said A-Class? What are they even talking about?
“He’s an Aphelion,” my mother stated matter of factly, “I’m sure he will join his sister in no time.”
My sister? Wait, the one who wasn’t here when I was born. Was she a Rigel… whatever that was?
“Well enough with talking of the future, for now, let’s just get him home,” my father responded. Immediately one of the women grabbed me as the other helped my mother out of bed and into a wheelchair.
My mother was strong, I could tell by just being around her for a few days. She by no means needed the wheelchair but I suppose my father would have it no other way.
After handing me back to my mother the blonde servant immediately went to open the door. Without looking back my father began his march and we began to follow. “Come on Cronus, let’s go home.”

The station was huge. It had taken close to three hours to arrive from the hospital. However, as we entered the gates of our estate I couldn’t help but feel that the wait was worth it.
The entrance was two white marble pillars supporting a stupendously large black gate-probably to show our family’s wealth or something even more stupid-with what appeared to be a family crest. The crest was a solid black upside-down V-probably meant to be an A without the line in the middle-with a beautiful amber sun behind it.
Upon the gatekeeper seeing my father, the gate opened inwards splitting from where the upside-down V met.
The driveway was no joke either. The marble brick turned to make a circle leading to the front entrance of the manor and then back towards the gate. In the center of the circle was an ornamental fountain. Marigolds and other pieces of flora filled the landscape eloquently.
As the driver came to a halt we began to get out of what is called a Hover-Rover. Ours was much more eloquent than others I saw on our trip. With its interior and exterior very similar it reminded me of a Rolls-Royce with amber and black coating.
A wave of exhaustion suddenly hit me as my mother handed me to the blonde servant-wearing a simple black and white dress-who had held me earlier. Undeterred from the exhaustion, I kept both eyelids open hoping to see as much as I could.
The lady carried me through the massive double doors of my new home and although I was exposed to a grandiose foyer with lots to see… a sudden wave of remembrance hit me.
This isn’t why I was here. I had been given a fourth chance. A second chance at life. I couldn’t waste it. No matter how well prepared I thought we may be I couldn’t be satisfied.
Satisfaction is what determines the food chain upon predators. Nothing else. The alligator could be king of the swamp and jungle if it didn’t get so lazy after a meal. I wouldn’t make the same mistake. I couldn’t.
This body. It feels strong enough for me to crawl around already. There is no excuse to stay complacent now.
Another wave of exhaustion suddenly hit me much harder this time and I knew I couldn’t stay awake much longer.
After assuring myself that when I wake up I’ll begin learning everything there is to know about this world, I closed my infant eyes and fell asleep.
