“You shouldn’t be here”
The manly voice startled me, and my head jolted to look over my shoulder. I saw him coming from the bushes behind me.
A demon!
That was the first word that popped into my head to describe him. His dark purple skin extended to a pair of massive bat wings behind his back and two horns adorned his face. His eyes felt like pure darkness, and he looked at me menacingly.
How did he manage to walk in the forest with those wings?
I shoved that thought aside as I started dragging myself back to make some space between us. He had no apparent weapon and was dressed in only a simple rag across his waist. However his whole body was muscled and toned, shaped as a weapon itself.
My body started shaking but I gritted my teeth and planted my feet on the floor to get up and run. As I raised myself and started turning, my feet got stuck and made me fall again. I felt the rough ground against my face and hands, with the familiar burn starting to come up on the places I had cut. My feet were still stuck, and I shifted my face only to see vines circling them.
I heard his steps approaching me from the back and he knelt down on one knee. His face tilted slightly as he reached my face.
“You don’t belong here” he said as he stroked my chin.
I was so petrified from the fear, I could barely hear him. His whole presence seemed to radiate evil, and I could only stare into those black, empty eyes.
“And now I need to punish you” his voice hardened as he finished the sentence by scratching my face with a sharp nail. I let out a whimper as tears jolted from my eyes. My whole body was shaking but I dared not move as he held my neck with his massive hands and lifted me from the floor. I had never felt so small, so brittle.
“I... guarh...grr” my mouth shut again when I realised I could not speak properly. Was it the fear, the dryness of the ground that came into my mouth when I had fallen?
“It’s really nothing against you, but I need to make sure you will never come back to this place.” That was the longest speech he’d given so far. His gaze turned down toward my face and a grin appeared on his lips. His breathing got closer and his warm breath tickled my neck. Suddenly something wet touched my chin, as he licked me.
As if a spell had broken, I jerked around and attempted to bite him. He got away while still keeping me under his grip, but I managed to wipe away some of his saliva from my face. I felt so disgusted, so impure! My arms tried to reach him to no avail, so instead I tried to move the little saliva I had on my mouth to spit on him. My mouth was so dry I barely managed to reach him, and he didn’t seem phased by it all.
“Well now, you just needed a bit of cleaning” he smirked as he licked his mouth.
He’s toying with me!
“Go fu…” my voice came to a stop as my body hit a tree and all the air seemed to gush out of my mouth.
Without giving me time to move I saw vines coming from the ground towards me and soon I was wrapped tight.
“There’s no need to make your life harder, you only need to d..”
“Stop that immediately”
From the corner of my eye, I saw another manly figure approaching. Almost like a direct opposite of the demon, this entity looked like an angel. His skin was fair and seemed to shine slightly. His gaze turned to me and with a wave of his hands the vines started retreating.
“Go away child” he said as he turned to the demon.
I opened my mouth to voice my gratitude, but nothing came out. Not wanting to be more of a burden I gathered the torn pieces of my dress and ventured again into the dark and dense forest.
“Illiafur…”
That was the last I heard from the angel-like man before silence engulfed me again.
