Heyo! I am back with a FHEPs update.
For those who don't know FHEPS stands for Family Homelessness & Eviction Prevention Supplement.
This is the program helping me to move. When I got the Voucher last year it was for $1580 and I need to find a 2-3 bedroom.
WITH THAT AMOUINT?!
not likely.
City FHEPS (for single people and couples) was updated a while ago but regular FHEPS was left in the dust.
A bill was passed in June for an increase but was not signed until December. But FHEPS wasn't allowed to actually hand out the vouchers until... actually I have no idea when. xD
I called every 2 weeks until April and was told no and then I wait 3 weeks and BOOM I get a yes!
Needless to say I was extremely excited.
The new amount is for $2,217. I can still only get a 2 bedroom because once you take out utilities its only about $2,078. There are no 3bedrooms at that price unfortunately.
BUT HEY! I have a better chance at finder a nicer place!!
