It will always a constant battle for anyone. Many times I'm too ridden with guilt to approach the Lord in prayer, even forgetting his gentleness. But then I remember that God doesn't require us to first get our act together before coming to Him--we come to Him broken so that he can heal us and change us into the best versions of ourselves. Nothing you do will shock Him, He just wants His children to return to home.
