The ringtone send her sitting upright in an instant. Through her blurry vision, she glanced at the time on the phone. 4:13, she fell back on the bed wondering why the retard called at 4 in the morning.
She let it ring twice before picking it up, "what is it?"
"Do you want to mess up my schedule that bad? Meet me in the parking in 5 minutes" *beep*
She sprung upon hearing the last 2 words.
So Woon was dressed casual than usual and his manager was nowhere around. He leaned on the car crossing his arms and took another bite of the apple in his hand. Samairah walked towards him with the car keys.
"Where's your manager?" she asked. Avoiding answering, he threw an apple to her and hopped in the back of the car. She took a bite and got into the car.
"Where are you off to, so early in the morning?" she asked
"I don't know, my schedule is freed up today so take me around on a tour"
"You called me at 4 in the morning to go on a tour"
"Ah come on Sam, I deserve that much for being your first kiss, don't you think? Also it's my first time in this city"
She turns back and glares at him.
"Fine, we'll leave as soon as you apologize properly", she said with a no nonsense face.
"Ah was it that bad? For once you should consider yourself lucky, your first kiss is Cha So Woon" ,he said holding up his hands. He looked up to see her; she still had the same expression.
"Fine, I'm sorry you had to experience the touch of my lips on yours. I'm sure I have to be sorry, for my irresistible charm because you closed your eyes and held on to me and-"
"Where to?"
"Huh?" he looked up at her, she had turned back to look ahead and had turned on the car. He smiled.
"I will give you the liberty to decide that. Somewhere quiet and calm", he says looking out and smiling.
"Fine, it's a 3 hour drive"
"Ah wait wait wait a second, before we begin", he said as he opened the door and hopped in the passenger seat. Samairah looked at him confused.
"It would be awkward going on a fun trip as a driver and a celebrity. Let's just go as friends", he exclaimed looking happy.
"What are we waiting for?" He asked as Samairah still sat looking at him confused.
"Oh yeah let's go", she said as they started the journey.
So Woon switched off the AC and pulled down the windows. His brown hair flew above his forehead as the wind gushed in. Samairah looked to the left; he had closed his eyes as he bathed in the faint orange hue of the sunshine and the breeze. *Damn dude is cute* she caught herself smiling.
"I agree", he said opening his eyes narrowly.
*Did I say it out loud? No way*
"Let's put on music", he said as he pressed play on the stereo. It played Psychosocial on maximum volume. She paused it immediately and pressed the Bluetooth icon. Pulling out her phone she proudly pressed play. Never ending Story by Stray Kids started playing.
"Oh so you do know k-pop" he said slyly.
"I downloaded a playlist just in case you asked for music", she said as she kept her eyes ahead looking more focused than ever.
"Sam", he looked to his right, still leaning on the window sill. The messy hair, narrowed eyes and parted lips could make anyone fall head over heels in a second. She turned to her side to face him; she felt her skin tingle and her heart race. A weird sensation came over her.
"I'm sorry", he said looking at her.
"F-fo-for what?"
"I felt like I didn't apologize properly for what I did", he looked out again. They passed by a stream overlooking green fields and mountains in the distance.
"To people like me, physical affection is nothing more than what it is. To me, it was nothing, I hope you don't take it the wrong way", he said in a low husky tone. *Am I being harsh?* he thought as he spoke. He sighed looking out.
*Why am I disappointed? I wanted him to apologize!* Samairah looked back ahead.
About an hour had passed. She stopped at a gas station to refill and bought donuts from the shop nearby.
So Woon was fast asleep.
*Ah this looks uncomfortable, I'll pull down the seat for him* she walked to his side opening the door and leaned in to press the button.
So Woon opened his eyes blinking for a while to adjust to the sunshine in his eyes. Her usually gelled back hair was free today, it fell over her face, and the wind led strands of it in her eyes as she struggled to push the button without disturbing him. She felt the touch of his cold fingers as he tucked the strands of hair back behind her ears and leaned down to help with the button, their faces now inches apart. Pulling herself together, she jumped back, hitting her head on the roof of the car. "Ow ow ow" she howled as she moved a few steps away from the car.
"Sam are you okay?" he said getting out rubbing the back of her head.
"I'm fine", she grabbed the donut packets and handed it over to him, "you must be hungry". He smiled.
"Thanks", he said as he took a bite of the chocolate glazed donut.
The 3 hour drive passed pretty awkwardly other than the frequent discussions about the laid back scenery.
"We're here", she said as she got out. She grabbed the bags from the trunk and walked through the narrow road between the wilderness and the river.
"Woah. This is cool", he exclaimed as he rushed to the edge of the road and looked at the view of snow capped mountains across the river.
The narrow road led to a small cabin. She put in the pass code and the door opened. The interiors were wooden with no unnecessary decorations. The kitchen barely had enough space for two people. She stocked the fridge with grocery and alcohol she picked up at the store. Walking to the room, she tidied the bedroom putting away the single family photo in the drawer. She pulled the curtain aside letting in sunlight and opened the sliding door to let the dust out.
"Is this the only room?" she was startled by his sudden arrival.
"Hmm" she nodded.
"Looks like you'll have to spend the night on the couch", he says laughing.
"Yes" she nods and walks out.
"I mean, I was joking-" she walked out before hearing it. She came back in with toiletries and put them in the washroom.
"You like fishing?" he nodded in reply, "come out in 10 minutes. I'll set things up" he nodded again.
He sat at the steps near the storage watching her set up chairs and the fishing equipment. *Cute* he smiled as he thought. Snapping back to reality, he shook his head. *Why will a kiss affect you so much? You have done it a couple of times before* he thought as he looked down.
"Would you like another?"
"Yes" he said blushing and looking up. He stopped smiling, his eyes widened, he stood up and said, "WHAT?"
"You said you liked this chips flavour, do you want another?"
"Oh, yeah sure" he took the chips from her hand with an awkward smile.

Sitting on the chair upon the wooden bridge, she looked to her side, the house; she still remembered the house being flooded with reporters as she and her mother watched from aside.
"Oh oh, I got one I got one" she was startled as he brought her back from the train of thoughts she was pondering upon. He pulled up the fish, catching it and unhooking it. She grabbed the fish putting it back in the water,he stood up in protest, "we spent hours catching it".
"There's fish in the fridge if you want to eat. Fishing isn't about catching a fish but about the time you get to clear your mind of thoughts."
"I didn't know you were such a romantic" he replied.
"I'm not-", he walked off before she could speak.
She set the campfire and barbecue.
"You come here alone?" He asked out of curiosity.
"Hmm" she nodded as she flipped the meat on the grill.
"So am I the first guy to come to your cabin?" *Why am I blushing? So Woon get your head straight* he ordered himself.
"Hmm" she nodded.
"Ah I'm a lot of your firsts" he laughed, gulping down the beer with grilled meat.
She looked at him, his laugh made her forget everything for a second. She caught herself smiling looking at him.
"Why what's wrong? I have never seen you smile so wide" he said as he smiled, he felt his heart race.
The night passed and by 12 they had got to sleeping.
The door creeked open leaving a small gap. A face emerged out of the dark glancing at her. She wiggled on the couch, seemingly having a nightmare sweat dribbled down her forehead to her ears. He watched as she slept, *Why do I like her? There is no reason for me to. Do people fall in love so fast? Am I being weird?* he glanced at her again. *I am the Cha So Woon, I don't need a reason to like anyone* his conflicting thoughts were cut off as she woke up from sleep seeming out of breath. She hit her chest with her fist a few times before running out and sitting by the riverside.
She felt a gnawing pain in her chest, and breathed heavily. Tears built up in the corners of her eyes. She wanted it to stop. She held her face unable to control the tears.
He watched as he sat wondering if he should go to her.
He gently tapped her shoulders.
"Ah it was you, I thought this place was haunted", he joked.
She wiped off her face with the sleeves of her shirt and stood up. "Sorry, did I wake you?"
"Nope, I just got thirsty", he lied.
"It's cold out, let's go back in" she walks back. He grabs her hand, walking closer to her.
"Are you okay?" he asks in a concerned tone.
She looks down, her eyes were teary. *Don't cry, don't cry* she thought to herself as tears made their way down her cheeks.
"Is something bothering you?" he asked.
He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer and patting the back of her head gently.
"You don't need to tell me. I'll stay by you. Cry if you have to. I promise to forget it", he said as he hugged her holding her close.
For the first time she felt like she could lean on someone, she felt like she could be vulnerable in front of someone. She cried out, she finally felt that her life could finally be normal.
