She shifted sideways in her bed as the shafts of light shone through the curtains. The alarm rang just then; she groaned as she dragged herself out of the bed.
The family meeting with Aerah's lawyer was being held today to discuss the contents of her will. Everyone was tense, even David who usually used his humor to mask his shitty personality. The routine followed, the security team escorted the family into their vehicles driving to their family villa amidst acres of land. The team stood outside while they spent four hours in the conference room. The team took the liberty to take a snack break while leaving Samairah outside. At irregular intervals, their voices would skyrocket.
"..I have always been the CEO, what do you mean no change?"
"I didn't know that witch would do something like this..."
"...let's just pretend this never..."
"Can I just suggest something..."
There was not much she could make out from the conversation except that Aerah had done a good job of pissing off not just her husband, the Chairman but also the cocky son and his wife and their spoilt kids.
"Anyhoo-", she whispered as she put another almond into her mouth.
After almost two more hours, the door opened. The Chairman was the first to exit, his son and the wife followed. The lawyer had a broken glass and walked out, his hands shivering as he picked up the papers that fell from his hands. He pushed it back in the file and exit the room. Samairah watched as he walked out.
"What the fuck are you waiting for?" David shouted from across the hallway. She hurried to the car.
The Chairman was already in the backseat of the Chrysler. She sat in the front seat.
"Sorry I'm late", she said as the driver started the car.
"Come to my study later", the Chairman ordered. She rolled her eyes as stealthily as she could.
*Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck*
***
She took off the jacket, kneeling down and kept her head bowed.
"I'm sorry"
*Another perk of being an enemy's ex right hand, shall I call this. The Chairman's temper was a bit fucked up and his let out is well, to put the naked truth out there, beating the shit out of me*
She gritted her teeth as the shaft of the golf club hit the same spot on her back again and again. Initially she had been carried half conscious out of the room by David. Now she had gotten used to it, barely feeling the pain.
"How dare that sly witch favor that scum? How dare she disregard me?"
*"How would I ever know you sick fuck?" I said, of course in my mind*
***
She spent the rest of the day, her back turned to the mirror applying some ointment on, which David had got her. *out of pity, sympathy or so I don't die leaving them a corpse to deal with, I will never know*

She stood in the same study two days later. The Chairman had called for her and Inez, this other insignificant dude in the security team. Inez was a tattoo disguised as a man, huge arms full of nerves. *A small cut would kill him right? Right? Is it weird I thought of it in the first place* She turned her gaze form Inez to the Chairman who had a broad smile on his face.
He handed her a photo, it was of a middle aged woman. He handed another to Inez, the photo was of a middle aged man. They both looked at the photo and back at Chairman.
"What do you say about being the CEO of our security company in Dubai, Inez?"
Inez smiled and bowed his head. The Chairman turned to Samairah *Woah, do I finally get my ticket out of this shithole?*
"How would you like to be an official part of our family? I see Sejin is almost your age and ...", he blabbered about setting her up with his grandson but her mind had been preoccupied by disgust which she hoped didn't show on her face. She bowed her head, anything else and we would be looking at a round 2 of golf and not the nice kind.
"Find them and bring them back. This job goes perfectly and your lives will change forever"
*Dude is definitely going to kill me and the inked retard next to me after whatever this job is, would be done*
She started the G-Class, pondering upon whether she should take this sexy stuff for a long ride and never come back. But she decided against it after imagining a future of being chased down by David and his team of mindless thugs in suits. She watched as two cars exited the house, the address of which was on the back of the photo. She followed them closely until spotting the woman from the photo in the car at the back. She pushed down the accelerator overtaking the car and drifted to a halt in front of the car. The horrified woman hit the brakes but the car hit into the SUV in front, breaking the attachments on the bumper of her Genesis.
Samairah reversed the car and got out pointing the gun at the woman. She got out, carrying a beige handbag. Samairah grabbed her shoulders and pushed her into her car driving back.
"Do you know what you're doing?" she was calm in her demeanor.
"I'm Seo Ye Ri, wife of Lee Jae Moon", she spoke. Samairah frowned and looked at the woman. So it was the wife of the eldest son. "I'm sure you know what goes on in that house. Aerah, my mother in law trusted Jae Moon with the shares in her will. They will kill me if you take me there. Please. I have a son", she pleaded, her eyes now in tears.
*It must be nice to have a weakness. But I was one to my dad. A weakness that got him killed. I looked at the woman, she will probably die too and there is nothing I can do*
Before she realized what had happened, the woman pulled the gun to the side of her head.
"Stop the car", she shouted, "I said stop the car!" she looked broken. The car screeched to a halt.
"I can't fight you, but there is no way I am going back to that wretched house", she pulled back the gun pressing it against her own neck. As her fingers pressed the trigger, Samairah pushed the gun, the bullet escaped leaving a hole in the ceiling of the G-Class.
"Ah the beautiful car. What's wrong with you?" she grabbed the gun from her hand and pushed it beside the driver's door.
She pressed her head on the steering wheel and screamed for 10 seconds.
*I'm so fucked*
"Fine, do you have a place to go?" she asked the woman whose appearance was now disheveled.
