Agents of Salvation

Choice part 2

Choice part 2

May 11, 2022

"The church, where can I find it?" I ask with my eyes wide open showing the expression of pure curiosity.

"Head for the far east of Morality located at a hill near an angelic statue in 43 Moral lane." 43 Moral lane? I think I could get there with clear direction awareness, with that I believe it was entirely possible for me to make it there.

"Okay, near an angelic statue on a hill, alright!"

I said standing up with pure motivation and expectations, this was my chance, there was no way I was going to miss out on an opportunity to find safety.

"Excellent, you look prepare and animated, different from how you were before." Said by the stranger.

I have you to thank for that, If what you were saying was truly an option for me.

"Thank you, because of you there's hope for me now." As I said that the stranger stood up as well from squatting all day.

"Anytime, but to be honest if I had a family of my own, a wife and child per say, I would have offer you to come and live with us." Was this stranger serious? He would do that for someone like me?

"But seeing as how that is not the case here, bringing you to live with me alone would be extremely unmoral and sketchy, so this is the exact best thing for you, head for the church."

"Thank you alot mister!" I then bow expressing my gratitude to him immensely.

"Good luck." The stranger wave to me while walking away. I soon took off after our discussion, excitIngly racing through the streets of the city, heading to that exact location.

But meanwhile as the same stranger from before who was walking off, he then slightly open his close eyelids as he continue moving through the grim streets.

Meanwhile 15 minutes had pass back with me as I had arrive at 39 Moral street near the outskirts of the city, where more small houses were presents instead of buildings, almost looking more like a village instead of a city.

"This is the far East of Morality on the outskirts, so the kind gentleman from before said that this church was on a hill near an angelic statue." Uttering that I soon began looking around closely to notice a bit of a hill in the distance, with that I follow and begin moving closer to this hill after 5 minutes of running until I notice a statue in the far distance.

"I see something now, it looks like a statue with angelic wings!" Saying that I knew this had to be the place, so I ran over pass a couple of homes that I wasn't too far from. It was there when I ran past a woman who was in Black with sunglasses carrying a suitcase.

"Huh? Was it my imagination or was that kid heading to?" The woman question as she tilt her sunglasses and reveal a beautiful sky blue eye color, watching me race over towards the statue leading to the church I was told of.

3 minutes later, I arrive near the statue where I finally saw the Church of Virtuous in clear sight.

"I think I did it, I've made towards the church!" I said as I rewardingly smile with my arm place on the angelic statue looking at the church from there, I then took a step back and observe the statue up close.

"But this statue, It does look pretty worn." The statue itself looking pretty rusty, It looks like no one bother to polish it whenever it got that way.

"This statue must be centuries old." As I notice that, I quickly snap out of my gaze of looking directly at the statue and focus myself back on my objective.

"Right, let's do this!" I said gently, slapping my face. I had soon arrive towards the church entrance and began knocking on the door.

"Hello, is anyone there? I'm looking for somewhere to stay for a bit and heard this was a safe place!" As I yell while knocking at the door, I receive no reply whatsoever wondering if anyone heard me, so I kept on knocking.

"Hello?!" Still no answer, I was beginning to feel at a loss. "Is no one really?" (No, I've come too far to back away now.) I thought reassuring myself as I press myself onto the door trying to open it, and with little effort I manage to do so.

"Hello?" I look inside to see that the entire church was completely empty and by its appearance alone, had been abandon for quite some time. The Hall ransack, the lunette windows shatter, The chandelier destroyed.

Was this the right place or was it just a hoax all along? The questions began piling up as I thought as deeply as I could. But suddenly I heard a familiar loud creaking sound coming from the church's entrance.

"Is someone there?!"

As I made my presence known to whoever was at the entrance, I was hoping they would be my answer to finding safety but, who appear at the door was someone I was utterly not expecting.

"It's you?!" I said as if I was hit with a wave of immeasurable unpredictability.

"You've made it here! Fantastic!" The voice of which had spoken was none other than the stranger from before.

At that moment I absolutely couldn't tell if this was a good sign or…

"unmoral and sketchy"
1.I would use a different word than sketchy, kinda pulled me out of the trance. doesn't seem like it fits.
2. I think others are right. past to current tense, is why this reads partially choppy for me.
3. love how the moral theme finds its way into everything, like street names.
