Georgia sighed heavily and rocked on the back of Theo's chair, making the ginger flinch.
"I'm bored." She complained.
Theo craned her neck back to stare daggers into the blonde. "Can you not?" She grumbled. "I'm trying to finish my calculus homework." She raised and eyebrow. "I thought you were supposed to be helping me?"
Georgia shrugged as she chewed the end of a pencil. "I have. It's not my fault you're taking so long." She lowered the pencil. "I taught you how to do that part." Georgia pointed to the tenth question on the page, where the paper was grayed from the continuous erasing.
"Yeah, but I don't understand it!" Theo grumbled, looking down at her paper. She lifted the packet up and shoved it towards Georgia. "Show me again, please?"
Georgia sighed, but bent down to scribble the formula for the equation. "See? This goes here, and this variable turns negative." She tapped the page with her eraser. "Bam, just taught you again."
Theo's cheeks puffed but she didn't say anything. Instead she stood from the chair, hurriedly placing her knee on it to keep Georgia from falling backwards. "You know, I wish you weren't such a brat."
Georgia grinned. "I wish you weren't trash at math. I could be spending my weekend elsewhere," Georgia shrugged, a her grin churning into a sly one. "Who knows? Maybe I could be getting a girlfriend somewhere?"
Theo frowned, biting her lip. "You are such a brat." Theo huffed, shaking her head.
Slowly, she bent forward to pepper Georgia's face with kisses. Each one was hesitant, and left Georgia's skin boiling with heat.
Theo's eyes had flickered up to Georgia's for a second, but then they fell down to her lips.
"Can I?" Theo whispered, moving forward.
Her eyes widened when Georgia placed her palm on her lips, filling the space between their lips.
Georgia shook her head, the smallest hint of frustration in her gaze. "Don't kiss me."
Theo reeled back, stuttering. "What? Why?"
Georgia slowly stood from the chair and zipped up her jacket, reaching for her purse.
"I don't want you to kiss me until you can be devoted to me. Until you're obsessed with me. Kiss me when you mean it. When Yana's not at the back of your mind."
She breathed deeply before pulling Theo's collar, bringing her close enough to kiss her forehead.
"I'll kiss you because I mean it. I can kiss you because I don't have some trashy ex in the back of my mind- an ex who only pitied me, and felt bad. An ex who didn't even love me like I loved her."
Georgia sighed, letting Theo's shirt go. Her eyes widened as Theo's face slowly flooded.
"I-" Georgia started. "I didn't mean to say that. I shouldn't have-"
"You should go."
Georgia blinked, raising her head to look at the ginger that frowned at the floor, clutching her arm.
"What?" Georgia breathed, her own eyes pricking with tears. "What did you say?"
Theo's chest rose harshly. "I said," Theo rose her head. "You should go, Georgia."
Georgia took a step back, slowly nodding as her words finally registered. "Okay. Yeah. I'll go." Georgia clutched her purse strap. "You should have a serious talk with Yana, alright?"
Theo nodded. "I will." She swallowed roughly. "But please, just leave for right now."
"Can you please come talk to me once you figure yourself out? Please, Theo? I know I made a mistake, I know I said things I shouldn't have. I'm sorry. I just don't know how to deal with this-"
"It's okay." Theo cut Georgia off. "Leave."
"Okay." Georgia muttered, opening Theo's bedroom door. She looked back at the crying teen once more, a pain pinging in her chest. "I'm sorry."
Click.
------------
She paced the floors, chewing her nails. Occasionally, she flinched when she bit too hard, catching her skin.
It had been a day since she had slipped up and mentioned Yana. An entire day. Normally, Theo wouldn't go a single day without a good morning text; and yet, when Georgia woke up this morning, her phone was blank.
"Gin, can you chill out?" Annabelle huffed. "Just because your puppy hasn't messaged you back doesn't mean she hates your guts now."
Georgia cut her eyes at Belle, silencing the brunette.
Annabelle bit her lip. "Listen, all I'm saying is Theo's probably just trying to figure it all out. I mean, I'd be pretty shocked if I found out my ex of six years never actually liked me. I'd be livid, actually." Annabelle shrugged, digging deeper into the bag of potato chips on the bed.
"You talk too much sometimes." Georgia grumbled, marching over to the bed and collapsing next to Annabelle. "I don't think a wreck like you has any right to tell me anything." Georgia closed her eyes, breathing in deep. "You can't even stop wallowing in self-pity enough to reach out and grab the one that's right in front of you."
Annabelle clicked her tongue. "Wow. Harsh truth right there, Georgia. That's why I like you, you never sugarcoat anything. Brutal honesty, just the way I like it."
"What are you gonna do about that, anyway?" Georgia asked, blinking up at Annabelle. "Do you like them?"
"Of course, I do." Annabelle admitted. "She's sweet enough. But she does seem a little clingy."
"Isn't that how you like them, though?" Georgia chuckled. "For real, though. Sonny seems like a real nice kid. Don't hurt them unnecessarily, alright?"
"I don't think he'd ever get close enough for me to actually hurt him. Not that I'd try to."
Georgia sighed, rolling over onto her stomach. "You should really figure yourself out, Belle."
Annabelle smirked, offering a chip to Georgia. "Only if you figure yourself out first."
This chapter is somewhat short, but I wasn't feeling much motivation and I didn't want to try and force work out, since it'd probably be lacking in quality.
Georgia and Annabelle are human. They have flaws and make mistakes. Hopefully I've portrayed that and written them well. Tell me your thoughts, I'd appreciate the feedback. ( ╹V╹ )
I have a joke for you, dear reader.
What do you get when two idiots who see each other as amusing, yet annoying toys use each other to benefit in their own ways, only to end up falling head over heels for one another?
An idiotic "enemies" to lovers story.
Funny joke, right?
Georgia wants to be less boring, Theodora just wants to graduate and disappear.
