Similar to a wolf, but not truly Wolf. This being is too powerful to be mainly that, but what could it be called now?

A remnant of a primordial soul, if so much.

Not too long ago, she had lost two pods of her offspring only to have this one be on the brink, becoming close enough to death.

She was annoyed by this outcome, but saw it for the better. After that incident between the siblings no less.

The god-cores were arrogant after gaining power, yet all of this was part of her training. To become stronger. With a wave of her hand, the domain was healed and the soul on the cusp of becoming one with darkness was healed, forming the six tailed beast slumbering. Watching its beautifully furred form, she then woke it to ask for its opinion. “Your first life is over. You will have five lives in total. Tell me what form you wish to take.”

“The wolf. I want to also become a guardian of those too weak to defend themselves. If I fail, then my life will be forfeited and I am to be tortured due to that fail.” She was surprised by this, but acquiesced to the wish.

With this alone, she knew that this offspring would suffer, but she will at least have a chance at living again.

There was a pained whine.

Soon after following this, a growl was heard. Outside, a pack of wolves waited nervously for the female-Alpha, commonly known as the Selene-alpha, to give birth to her first litter of pups.

On this day, the trees and bushes seemed greener. The prey that was caught was plentiful.

The Alpha was pleased with his female who appeared five moon cycles ago.

Within is the old she-wolf, watching to make sure the birth for the first-time mother was safe.

The eight-meter tall Alpha prowled the forest, his paw landing heavily on the ground. His four eyes; the main being the largest and the secondary, the smallest, stared fixedly at the cave entrance. Finally, the old howl of the She-wolf was heard as she announced the birth of his first litter of pups.

“The pup is born!”

The wolves howled. Some yipped excitedly. The Alpha waited for another announcement but none other was heard.

One single pup.

Still, it was from his beloved Selene-alpha, so he would happily accept.

Entering the cave soon after, the Alpha was met with the strong smell of blood. Ignoring that, he approached the slightly smaller Selene-alpha wolf and looked down at the newborn pup. Upon seeing it, he felt that the fur was quite beautiful.

The fur coat was a beautiful white like his own with the pup having bright, glowing eyes like its mother. Sniffing it, the Alpha noticed that it had their perfect blend. The mother Selene-alpha felt content that she had finally given birth to a pup. The others present felt that the Selene-alpha seemed to have a weak womb, but since this is the first pup, the next should be OK.

Time continued to pass. Wolves would enter heat every fifteen moon cycles, which made their production rather slow. Especially for a female who is only fertile upon her thirtieth moon cycle and has only two heats before she begins to age. For a female, having a litter of three or five pups is a blessing. As for the Selene-alpha?

It seemed that her pup was not really a wolf, but a defect. The pup had silky fur, but its pelt was not one solid of color or toned in a beautiful pattern of patches like on the ear, eye or entire stomach area females found attractive on a male. Instead, the fur was green with white patches; the eyes were quite strange as well, much scarier than their most feared enemy. A pale green with three pupils! One in the middle with duals at each end. The tail was funny as well, half the length of a wolf and covered with half the fur.

The ears were also curved, and the female made a strange laughing sound. The pups had no desire to play with it.

Even when they did, the pup that was so strange was more a loner lacking the social needs like other wolves.

Upon the next mating season, the Selene-alpha went into heat. The Alpha mated, and she swelled with young. During that time, the young male wolves eyed the pup borne of the Selene-alpha and the Alpha. They saw how her green fur shone with a lustrous glow. Those strange eyes twinkled and the slightly long fur around her neck area attracted them to her unusual beauty. Many had brought pieces of the prey to her, but she had ignored them several times, accepting the prey from the few females.

Upon the day the Selene-alpha was to give birth, the pup disappeared.

The firstborn pup roamed, walking through the lush forest for many moons until it met the flowing stream of water. After that, it dipped a fore-paw within before plunging into its depths and paddling its four paws to move forward. After that, it was not long before it reached the other side. Shaking its shaggy fur, it stared at the vast pale blue before it.

The pup thought it was fascinating at the time and happily bounded across the cold flaky mass.

This continued for five triple moons and twin suns.

On the fifth moon, there was a two-legged creature who appeared. The pup was puzzled by this two-legged creature inhaling its scent. It could not be eaten, but perhaps a toy to bat around?

The pup raised a paw and brought it down, watching as the tiny two-legged thing was sent flying in the distance.

Following it with a few bounds, the pup continued to smack it before wrinkling its nose in disgust.

There was a red liquid flowing from it and its body became still. The pup became distressed suddenly and thought that her toy was broken and she should try healing it. With a touch of her somewhat blunt claw, the toy was healed. ‘Fragile.’ The pup growled, turning away. Time passed.

What was one triple moon cycle became two and then, in a blink, ten. The pup grew larger. Almost as large as her Alpha father. Upon maturity, she gained knowledge, realizing she was not fully wolf because of her form’s stark differences. If that was not enough, her four fore-paws were a sign. The two hind paws were shorter, and she made a strange laughing sound. She felt content roaming alone only feeling the slight need to visit her Selene-alpha mother and Alpha father when necessary. Fear was the only thing keeping her back, though.

The small two-legged beings were called ‘Mensch’. She had a desire that had a hold on her to guard them, protecting them from harm.

Upon her fourteenth triple moons cycle, one triple moons cycle before she was supposed to enter her first heat, there was an attack. She tried to rush back, tried to save them, but alas—she was too late. Upon her return, the entire colony of mensh was trampled to death, leaving none alive. A howl was torn from her throat. She felt the pain in her hearts, making her vision blur.

Darkness blanketed her vision, leaving her with a feeling of floating freely.

After the voice announced this, she felt the first shred of pain knifing through her entire form.

This lasted for so long that time could not be measured.
