The cupboard had fallen to reveal rusty chains intertwined around a small piece of paper that were rigidly keeping it out of any conniving hands. All of them had successfully dodged this cupboard, and the residue was now just rotten wood piled along like a hilly plain.
Saffron had whipped out his phone to play a TikTok video from the school lore account. After scrolling through videos, he could eventaully conclude this little sheet of paper was actually a spell tag.
"So, what you're saying, is that has a ghost in it?" Murphy asked, looking really puzzled.
"Nah, because you're really going to believe some dead three-minute video that was probably made to scare the crap out of us?" Ken complained, scrutinising everyone deeply.
"We probably shouldn't take any chances, and maybe I could load it into my art portfolio." Ren suggested, instantly changing the mood.
"But you left it above in the hut, right?" Huey questioned, staring upwards.
That was an issue. They all wanted to keep it a secret before rumors spread like the plague, but just carrying it around would make them visibly suspicious.
Arthur and August had stepped forward.
"We have a plan, but we need everyone's co-operation." Both of them said.
