You all know the story of the infamous brothers, Dream and Nightmare and the war that they fought against each other for control. A dance between life and death across the AUs. Many were lost to either invasion or in the crossfire of the battle between the Star Sanses and the Bad Sanses. 

But one day, word had gotten out that the leader's universe was reborn. Though how was still a mystery. One that the brothers tried to solve once they saw it for themselves. The tree… though a sapling, was growing in the middle of the hill that started it all. 

This was a chance to redeem themselves and their sins. So they made a pact, a peace treaty of sorts. Nightmare was a bit hesitant to sign it though. Believing that things would start all over again. But Dream offered his trust in the form of something he wouldn't expect in all the years they fought each other. He offered the Book of all AUs.

After the treaty was signed there was a bit of bickering from the others but they quieted down after a few reassuring words from Dream and a few threats from Nightmare.

And what the brothers both agreed, for once, was that they needed their own space and protection from others for the young tree. So they used their powers to make an enormous castle that separated the day from the night. There were only a few places that both kingdoms could meet peacefully. Two of those places were, what the brothers named it, "The Eclipse Arena." Where both sides of the kingdom's athletic and clever mages would duke it out with various sports that other humans had made from different universes. And the prize was medals and for the ultimate bragging rights and discounts for pretty much everything if they won. In the form of a gigantic jeweled trophy. The other place was the chaple in the center front of the castle that was called Solstice Square. And the chapel was named Stargaze Hill Chapel where the young tree was heavily guarded and the people could get wed, blessed, and have celebration parties to help aid the growth and health of the tree and to show gratitude to what they believed was the Heavens doing for giving birth once more to their world.

And when the people started to show traits of positive personalities and negative personalities and how they started to what Dream said that "they rubbed the wrong way". The brothers passed a law that the people should have a civilian registration on the side of emotion that they were born under and that in order to access the other opposing side, they would have to either receive a special license for living or visiting. And of course there was the barrier with medieval magical iron gates and cement walls with heavily armed guards separating the sides. It was basically like border patrol in our world. 

But of course not all people respected that rule. Especially after a certain incident that the border patrol office accidentally made with the registration for the citizens. Apparently, some positives and negatives were swapped with each other. Creating a whole new adventure for Dream and a whole new migraine for Nightmare.

Meanwhile in a quiet dark shop on Dream's side and a cozy little diner on Nightmare's side were two girls. Both waiting to have their story to be told.
