Jude Looked at all the changes to the layout of stores. Some had expanded as new products or needs were established but they were all mostly the same. The shops were designed like pre-Ark malls. Stores built into cubicle like rooms, some taking multiple others only a single cubicle. "Man... it's weird seeing all this, when we were kids this all looked so much bigger..." Jude remarks. Walking around lightly with Alice. "Yeah... Your main necessities will be food and clothes but it's your money..." She says sounding a bit like she's reminding Judith how to shop on a budget with Jude simply nodding. "I do know how survival works sis." Jude say's as they walk into a simplistic outfit store looking at the lightly styled and color variety of the Ark suits.
As they shop, they try to keep up a soft dialog. Alice asking about Jude's life, asking about their sexuality and gender. But it's hard fitting a childhood of conversations and understanding into a shopping trip. Jude ends up going with a very minimalistic wardrobe. 8 pairs of various colored jumpsuits and a basic suit the only real flare being some slap on badges and a pride flag pin for the suit. Alice could understand that the basic jumpsuits are comfortable and cheap to bulk buy for a early wardrobe so she didn't complain. Most people used them heavily so it wouldn't stand out, aside from Jude's hair which stood out from space. When they stopped to grab some noodles for lunch she finally had to ask.
"So... what is with that hair? I mean... you got such basic clothes but... Your hair has more color then a crayon box." She jokes and Jude chuckles. "Funny you say that but... it helped my fit in. The sanctuary I lived at was heavily populated by intelligent mutants... showing I was okay with something... flashy helped. Plus a few people liked my hair and it helped me make some friends." Alice noticed the soft faded smile on Jude's face. "Wow. I didn't really imagine you built such a life outside... I'm surprised you came back." "Yeah... But... I knew there was rumors that Project Icarus was rebuilding... So, when I got my chance, I took it so I could try to see you guys again..." Jude says... While it was a part of it... it wasn't everything. Alice moves a hand to his and smiles warmly. "Welcome home little Sib, you'll always be welcome in my book." Getting a soft smile out of Jude as they continue their lunch before heading to the food market.
"So... I can teach you some cost-effective meals if you want. you have a decent number of credits left but-Hey come back." As she speaks Jude's already walking to the back, looking at some colorful tofu and gelatin cup like cubes in biodegradable packaging. "What are you doing Nutri-Packs taste weird... don't you want real food?" She asks looking in soft disgust at the cubes. "No, we had an old Nutri-extractor on the sanctuary... I sort of got used to it. Plus, what's better to show the probation then seeing me settle minimalistic. Early on. Wouldn't that show I'll be safer to keep around?" They say with a light smile grabbing a few days' worth. "Fine... But if you get Nutri-sickness I'm not helping you." "Nutri sickness is a Myth; I ate theses a few times a week and was fine..." "That's because you had other foods... at least get some premade meal packs if your so stuck on efficient food." She asks and Jude nods walking with her to a frozen section and grabbing some Ark-Health Approved veggie meals.
As they walk out Jude shows Their Remaining Balance is a little over 1000RP. "Dang. No wonder you didn't think you'd need that many points... Your more frugal then I was when I first moved out and only got half pay." She says both a bit worried that it might not be super healthy but also a little impressed. "Yeah I just wanted enough points for some hair dye and a few teaching programs to help me get into the curriculum plus some normal writing utensils." Jude says happily going with her to the lower levels. "Okay well those shouldn't be too pricy. we make most of that from plants." She says lightly thinking on that. "But why use pen and paper if you have the visor now?" She asks softly. "I am just used to it I guess." They add with a smile and Alice nods in understanding.
After a trip to lower shopping levels for the rest of Their stuff Alice grabbing a few oranges to help smooth things over with Judith they are on their way home.
"So... What's your daughter like? Aside from liking oranges..." Jude askes a bit softer in tone not sure what to talk about. "OH... Well, I actually named her after you... so that should be interesting... Hehe... but she's a pretty normal girl... sometimes she's a little gremlin but I love her... and she's so smart... she wants to grow every plant she can... and she is... just amazing..." Her tone held all Jude needed to know the soft but glowing warmth of a real parent. They smiled lightly watching the buildings pass as they travel. "Sounds like a great kid by a great mom..." Jude comments softly with a smile before letting the silence take hold again.
Once they arrive home Alice shows Jude around. Its nothing special but comfortable enough for 3 people. Alice shows Jude to the guest room, maybe a little dusty but usable, a desk with Visor connection. A nice full bed, a dresser, and a small wet bathroom. She helps them put away their groceries before giving them some space to settle in a little and unpack. Jude sets their bag down on top of the dresser and looks to their visor. Shifting the view to the edge and searching for the extra features Red added seeing the resistance evac. And reds contact wasn't tampered with. "Guess it helps being a high profile returnee... they didn't fuck with my visor hard enough to find them." And shifts to message red. "Settling in now... checking for bugs." Only getting a reply saying. "Watching, got your room off the sensor feed for a moment. show the resistance you can do what you said."
Jude sighs. And holds their hand up towards the desk mentally preparing themselves for the drain. "Pherusa, surveillance equipment." A soft ring of what looks like a distant nebule, sparkling multicolored gas forms in Jude's open palm before pushing outward in a blink of a eye in a moment multiple small disks and a small camera and microphone form on the desk. Jude slams their fist down on to the stuff pulling back from the jolt of electric shock from the broken surveillance equipment. "Was that enough?" Jude asks softly knowing Reds watching through their visor and it takes almost a minute before a reply is heard this time. "Welcome home Judie..." Making Jude's eyes go wide at that nick name only one person dared to use... "Regi..."
