The Sortilege Academy, a straight shot into top Guilds for its students, is a top tier school reserved for the rich and powerful. Or someone with a good scholarship.
Barbara "Babs" Louis, a recent graduate of the Sortilege Academy, decides to follow her dream of becoming a part of the Bounty Hunting Guild, much the the surprise of her peers and mentors. However she quickly realizes how much goes into being one after finding her co-workers are the lazy Sector leader Paragon, his lab experiment side kick Anomaly, the lab experiment's idiot of a caretaker Riddle, and Paradox (Fortune), the only sane person in the entire company.
But as Babs comes to terms with her new environment, she starts to look farther than their childish antics. Just what led them to this Guild, if not the Academy?
And why is Paragon's magic so... corrupt?
