As soon as I started walking toward Eli’s room I heard his voice near the door to the Wednesday testing area. I followed the sound of the voice around a corner and immediately felt a sense of fear. I saw the suit of the man that everyone here feared, White Fang. “I don't want to do this anymore, those kids need their powers. Isn't that what this whole place is supposed to be about.” Eli had a voice that sounded like he wanted to cry. He was whispering but yelling. I could tell he was scared, anyone would be when talking like that to White Fang. “ This place is about making money, what you're doing could make us more money. You're my best scientist and I can't have you quit on me. Even if you are considering it, just make sure to remember that I control the fate of your family.” What the hell, Eli is being threatened by White Fang. What is he doing for him? What did he mean by we need our powers? Do we have powers? “I don't have any family left! You killed them all!” Eli was crying and he was mad. I think this is the first time I have seen a worker, especially Eli, cry. “Ok then, how about I toy with your foster parents' family” White fang had that stupid smug look on his face. The one he had whenever he was picking which kid he wanted to watch over for the next few months or even years. That smug look that I wanted to punch right off his face.
Speaking of hitting him, right where I had hit him earlier today, there was a bandage. I suppose he went to the healers for that, but why? I didn’t hit him that hard, I couldn't have. Max could've but I don't think anyone has stood up to White Fang. Everyone I have seen has been scared to death of him, even the workers who talk to him so casually. You can hear the subtle underlying sound of fear in their voice when they're near him. “This is what happens when children who don’t have powers get mad.” he pointed at the bandage on his face. “What would’ve happened if that little girl had powers, would she have engulfed me in flames? Maybe drown me or better yet pick me up a hundred feet into the air and drop me? ” White Fang was holding his cheek as if he was hurt, I know he wasn’t. “What happens when we send them out to the real world though!” Eli raised his voice at him a little. “We don't send them out to the real world, they either die from the conditions here or we kill them when they turn 18. Ok, they don't get a shot at the real world.” White Fang yelled at Eli, I wasn't expecting it neither was Eli. He looked like he had tears in his eyes. “Yes sir. I will do my best.” Eli responded and began to walk in the other direction while White Fang walked to the dock and got onto the boat that was there. I followed Eli, I wanted to talk to him about it but I didn't know if I would get in trouble for it. I decided to just try and talk about it to Dylan, Max, or Chloe in the morning after breakfast when there's free time. The fact that no one ever got out of here bothered me a lot. And Max is almost 18, I don't want him to die, no, he won't die, he's too strong. He beat those two workers in no time, so there's no way he can die. Knowing him, he will fight until the end. He’s where I get my fighting spirit from. We’re not best friends but I still care about him. I always looked up to him, how he could always fight the system in this place without showing any fear towards the workers. That’s it! I’ll tell Max in the morning because he would always fight the system without any proof or information except his speculations. If he meets with White Fang every day I can get evidence.
I will need to go to Dylan's room in the morning before I go to Max. I will need him to make me a voice recorder so that way I can record their conversations. I could place it on Eli so I can get live recordings of his voice, well, I won't but Dylan will. He should agree to make this without compensation because I know that he wants to find out about White Fang. Maybe I can get into Dylan's room and hide in there because I don't want to wake Micheal. Dylan's door isn't too far from here so I shouldn't get caught as long as I stay away from the worker's hallway. The only worker that I have to be careful of in this section is Leah Because her power is being able to forge water into weapons like swords or knives. The more complicated or bigger the weapon is, the less durability and strength the weapon has. She usually relies on a dagger because of this. I start to walk to Dylan’s room until I realize that I still have dried blood on my hands and I don't want to explain that to Dylan. The bathroom is just a little further than Dylan’s room so I should be fine and all the workers should be asleep. I walk past Dylan’s room and make my way into the bathroom. I didn’t turn the lights on to avoid any unwanted attention. I turn the faucet on really low so it’s almost silent. I wash all the blood off my hands and gently take a paper towel to make the least noise possible. I wipe the water and any excess blood off my hands. I start walking out of the bathroom and make my way back to Dylan’s room. I got to his room with no problem and knocked on his door. I know he was still awake either working on a current project or thinking of the next one. One time I don't think that he slept for a whole week trying to make a robot that could do the work that the school on this island gives us. We only have school every other day, so that's 2 days without school and 3 days with. We don't have school days on Wednesday, and Thursday. On Thursday is when we practice fighting each other. On the weekends we are off of school. On the weekends, we get free time outside. Dylan hasn't opened the door yet. I decided that since you can't lock doors anyways, I would open the door and go talk to him. He was probably too caught up in his building and programming that he didn't hear me open the door. I cracked the door open and “Dylan!”.
