Savannah's shoes patted the ground. She raised her head to look at the dark sky, taking in the cold desert air that blew through her blonde hair. She didn't know where she was going but instead of worrying about what to do, she continued walking, the brown dust on the ground wrapping around her soles with every step she took. Her boyfriend had kicked her out of the car some minutes ago. She felt guilty even though they had been arguing for practically the whole night. "Jerry.. you know what..just shut up." That was her last sentence before he pushed her out of the car. He used all of his strength against her resistance. "Get out, just get out." He even chucked her alcohol out of the door. The sudden crash of the bottle made her jump, warming her body in the cold night.
Since then, Savannah was stuck roaming the desert plains, similar to a helpless princess waiting for her prince to save her. She felt stupid and guilty waiting for Jerry to come back. She was always pushing him too much but he should be used to her personality by now right? Savannah knew those feelings would go away when his car pulled right beside her again like always. For now she continued walking around, smelling the musky scent of the desert; A place she didn't want to be at all, a place that was too quiet. She would have rather been at home eating nachos and watching a random dumb sitcom, but of course she had to mess it up. "Stupid Jerry." Savannah mumbled while kicking a rock that happened to be in front of her shoe.
The next few minutes passed by, it being filled with the sound of wind blowing and slow walking. Savannah's eyes trails up the cinnamon - colored ground and lands on a small hole in front of her. Maybe it was just boredom or curiosity, she decides to walk to it and stand above it. She looks down into the deep dark depths of the hole with her blonde hair dangling in front of her. The hole was strange because it was in the middle of a strange desert. It was small but looked like you could fall in and never come back out. Savannah was so confused. Savannah couldn't stop herself from looking into the hole to figure out why it was there, But Savannah almost jumped out of her skin when something reached up and grabbed her leg. A shrill shriek left the girl's throat as she stared at the bloody arm in horror, it was ugly and weird looking. But she didn't scream just because of that, it was also because she realized that she couldn't move even if she tried. Not that Savannah could because as soon as the strong hand gripped her leg, it pulled her into the hole.
Chaos, confusion and bewilderment overswept Savannah's neighborhood. Everyone wondered where she was and what happened when she left. Jerry was the first suspect but he was the first person to contact the police so as to not look suspicious. When the police got to the desert, all they could do was stare in shock, looking at Savannah's face stuck in a scream and sticking out of a hole.
