Asked Sammy as she looked towards Brian.

Brian gave her a thumbs up.

“Of course. Jay’s an expert flier. You’ve got nothing to worry about.”

Jay looked up at his slightly frightened rider.

“He’s right! I’ve flown Brian and his siblings back and forth without any problems. What makes you any different?”

“..Well for one thing, I haven’t really…flown like this before. Or..well…ever.”

He lightly chuckled.

“Explains why you’re clinging a bit tight. If it gets too scary for you, just let me know and we’ll land, okay?”

Sammy softly nodded her head. Jay made his way towards the beach that lay behind her family’s farm, looking around the area almost as if it was a runway at an airport.

“I believe I’m clear for takeoff! Are you ready?”

She looked at him, clinging around his neck fur a little tighter.

“N-Not really, but go ahead!”

She quickly looked over to Brian, who only gave her a reassuring smile.

“And I’ll be waiting right here when you get back..or right behind you once Usui gets here. Either way, you’re going to be okay. I promise.”

The bunny nodded and mouthed a simple “Okay.” in response, before looking back at Jay with a little bit of a confident gaze. Jay ran forward, dashing quickly like he was one of Santa’s reindeer pulling a sleigh. Sammy watched as she saw his majestic, feathery wings start to flap and flutter, lifting them both up off the ground with ease. She was actually impressed. He was like a Pegasus…but one that was much more fluffy and soft to the touch.

Jay flew high above the island, just barely reaching the peak of the island’s tallest mountain, Mt. Parrforte. His eyes turned to his rider.

“Hey, just relax. Just open your eyes. You got nothing to be afraid of up here.”

Sammy listened to his soothing voice and opened up her eyes, taking in the new sight that was in front of her.

“Wooow…everything just looks so pretty from up here.”

“Right? It’s just so wonderful; and you can see practically everything! Even some of our neighboring islands as well.”

Jay responded as he continued to fly around, pointing towards all the little islands that stood on the horizon all around them.

“How are you feeling?”

Sammy gave the angel dragon a soft smile.

“Honestly? I’m having a hog-killin’ time!* It just…gives me a sense of freedom.”

“Like all your burdens had just lifted off your shoulders so suddenly, and being all carefree?”

The bunny softly laid her head on top of Jay’s fluffy mane, being mindful of his horns.

“Yeah…just like that. Even just watching the ocean waves from up here gives me such bliss…”

Jay laughed.

“I’m glad it’s got you fair to middlin’. I was worried that you’d think I would somehow drop you.”

Sammy shook her head.

“Well…that was part of it but I was more concerned over the sight of being up so high; but being here now? It’s…actually not that bad. I’m glad and honored that you gave me this opportunity. Thank you.”

The angel dragon softly smiled.

“It’s no problem, kiddo. Any friend of my siblings is a friend of mine, y’know? I’ll be honest, I’m honored that you trusted me enough to do this.”

The bunny gently stroked her fingers against his fluffy mane.

“‘Suppose you could say it was a pretty fair trade on both our parts. By the way, I love that you and Usui both try your best to use Western lingo.”

Jay looked up.

“You and Jinx have been visiting so often to the point where it’s kinda difficult for me not to when you’re both around, haha…Kinda like, instinct.”

Sammy nodded her head.

“Fair! I just think it’s pretty neat, is all. I also think it’s neat that Brian talks so much about you, about how kind you really are despite people being so afraid of you.”

Jay titled his head, confused.

“People are scared of me? What for?”

“I think it’s because, as rumors say, you’re the island’s strongest dragon, and very much deemed a hero.”

The angel dragon softly stroked his chin.

“Ah. People probably only say that because I helped rescue those in danger when Hurricane Dorian hit us a few years back. I’m flattered people still think I’m a hero but I wouldn’t really call myself one. I only did what was morally right for me to do.”

Sammy nodded her head again in agreement.

“Ah. That’s..very admirable. I’ll be honest. No wonder why everyone says you’re so kind.”

Jay lightly chuckled, looking up at her before turning his head down towards the island below them.

“Well, ya know, I try my best to be! Though, I should probably return you home now. Ready?”

The rabbit smiled.

“Yes sir.”

“Alright, hold on tight!”
