*A/N: Hello! This idea came to me while spiraling down the rabbit hole of idol groups, old and new. This is written in first person, Sobatatsu Tori. I have no idea where this is going to go or if the description below will hold but I'm going to try my darndest to try and stick to it. Just a warning, Sobata is a horny bastard who thinks that no one can resist him. How that plays into some underground Idol controlling organization, I'm really not sure. Because of Sobata's personality, most chapters will be marked as MATURE.*
Idol groups have gained in popularity over the years. With the advancement in technology, information flows around the world in a mater of minutes. It doesn't take long for stories of mistreatment, control and the horrors of the "Idol Business" to make headlines.
These stories last for a news cycle and then are suddenly overshadowed by other international news and soon forgotten. Groups crash and burn while new groups rise from the ashes, seemingly born straight from the fires.
The rumors fly from the fingers of netizens all over the world only to find those same netizens recanting or becoming silent overnight. There are theories of an underground ruling body that controls the flow of information and the people involved in the business. Much like the Mafia or Yakuza, but even those organizations won't speculate as to who or what controls this world. They just know, it's not them and they too, fear them and don't dare cross that line.
The Idol business, worldwide, belongs to The Label. A single entity that controls all public entertainment companies by regulating who and what they can produce. No single promotion company makes a decision without The Label's approval.
Sobatatsu Tori gets pulled into the ground floor of this unknown world after his former groupmate commits suicide. No real information has been released to the public but it was known that Naka Kokoro was being harassed by online bullies after it was revealed that the he and his current groupmates, Troy Satoshiha and Sosaki Kami, were fourth string backup dancers for one of the top Idol groups in the world. Their newly formed group's label, New Beginnings, was under fire for creating the new Idol Group, The Charm, with talent that couldn't make the first string starting out.
During Naka's wake, Sobata (Nickname given to him by Naka) was approached by Tachi Shi, the leader of the top ranked Idol band, the very same one that Sobata, Naka, Troy, and Sosaki were backup dancers for. After Tachi leads Sobata away from the gathering at the label's headquarters, to an isolated hallway, Tachi reveals that he and Naka were in a romantic relationship.
Sobata is stunned to find out that Tachi is gay but also that his best friend and former groupmate was Tachci's boyfriend. Knowing that homosexuality is strictly frowned upon in the business, Sobata fears that Tachi may have contributed to Naka's death and that his death wasn't suicide.
As Sobata spends more time with Tachi, he is slowly dragged into a situation which he knows he cannot walk away from. Tachi is hiding something and Sobata isn't going to leave until he finds out what it is. Not to mention that Tachi's groupmates and label knew of his relationship with Naka and that Tachi doesn't hide his sexuality while at their headquarters. Could Sobata also be free to be himself and enjoy a life where he is free to love who he wants? He is torn until the truth is revealed to him.
