Chapter 1
Lua tossed and turned on his bed as he re-lived a memory, it always happened when he was sick or stressed out and right now he was sick burning with a high fever. The dream was always the same. He was younger than his currently 6 year old self, maybe two or three, and he was with a woman who spoke softly to him. He didn’t understand her words, but he felt them. They were warm like her touch, a feeling he craved but lacked from his adoptive parents. She had the same silvery green hair he did, and green eyes that sparkled in the dark room they were always in. She had warm black skin that he believed that she was a drow but her eyes and her smile and the warmth she always gave off made him think she was one of the good ones. He could remember always looking at her ear and the little flower earring she wore and then one day she took it out and put it into his ear, it had stung for a moment, and he had cried for a moment after but he grew to love it, because that was the thing he and his mother shared. Then he was ripped from her arms and he was forced to watch as the other drow chanted and cursed her, and she started changing into a monster, a Drider. It woke him up every time he saw it happen, she had attacked them and then ran off without him. That was the thing he hated remembering, and seeing how she just left him there. He didn’t know why she left him, maybe she was confused from the transformation or she didn’t know, or maybe she didn’t want to scare him any more. It didn’t matter to those people, they just handed him off to a loyal family. They were nobles on the surface and they were dark elves just like him. He sat up suddenly in bed, his head hurting, his chest hurt, sweat was pouring down his back and forehead, and tears streaked his cheeks.
“Mama.” He whispered reflexively.
He shook his head and looked around the dim room and located the wash water bowl near the door. He crawled over, thankfully as his mattress was on the floor, and he washed the sweat from his face and back. There was a water pitcher that he drank from despite the fact that it was a bit stagnant. It was still cooler than his own body. Now that was over he crawled back to his little mattress and closed his eyes to sleep again. This time instead of the memories of his mother he was starting to recall a different set of memories, he was another person, a human who was also stuck in a small room for most of his life. The only time he was allowed to leave the room was for the bathroom and for his meals. He didn’t go out a lot; he mostly spent his time in his room, sometimes playing approved games but most times with books. There was one game he played again and again and again, every time was different and he played it to completion. He often would go back and play the same route over and over again because he was in love with the one character. He remembered the rest of that life as a blur. It wasn't a happy life. He was used as a breeder but he died after giving birth to his only child. He woke up crying again, this time for a child that he would never know, but had been born healthy from the set of lungs on them.
He crawled over to the water bassen and then once again wiped his body down again then he drank the rest of the water down. It was weird, he had these two sets of memories that were smashing together, it was what was making his head hurt the most. He crawled back into bed and laid down trying to sort everything out but it just made him dizzy so he closed his eyes to sleep some more. From what he guessed he had been reincarnated into this world, why he didn’t know. He was once again an Omega, he could tell that much even though he was only six, maybe it was instinct or maybe it was just because someone had told him, he couldn’t figure it out right now. He was male and he was in a world where elves and magic and swords existed. He was a six year old boy named Lua’aZaer Del Monique, a familiar name but he couldn’t place it. Most of all he was a dark elf with short silvery green hair, deeply tanned skin, one green eye and one violet eye. He was the son of a Drow woman and a light Elf of some sort, and that made him a first generation dark elf but was adopted into the Del Monique family. He was on the malnourished side, because his “mother” didn’t approve of him but she kept him as a sort of “emergency sacrifice”, it was what she’d done with all of the male children she had. Why he was so important he didn’t know but she usually chose someone else before him at least so far.
He grew up behaving himself keeping quiet and when guests were over he kept to his small room, it felt a lot like his last life but this one was the worst. The help even treated him like dirt and he often in the middle of the night had to go out and steal food from the kitchen cause they forgot to feed him. He didn’t figure out where he was until he was twelve and had been looking out the window of his little tower room when he first saw him. He was clearly a year older than him and an Alpha, he had that beautiful silver hair and he knew he’d have amethyst colored eyes, he was walking with his “sister” Lucinda through the garden. It was Henri, the Crowned Prince of the Eastern Empire and the main lead of the game he’d loved in Lover’s Confession. His heart swooned seeing him even though he was still a child himself. He ducked down before he could see him, and then it all came together, he was in the world of his favorite game, and he was the “brother” of the Villainess of the game and the evil family that would later be destroyed as long as the game didn’t get the bad, bad ending. He cursed his luck, 95% of the time the whole family was eliminated if not by the Emperor himself but also by the nearby Ashmoon Kingdom run by Elves. His death seemed to be set in stone unless he could reach the age of 16. At 16 he could try and ask to be disowned and leave this place because that was a legal adult age, you could join the adventurers guild and make money to support yourself. It was either death by sacrifice or death by association otherwise.
He cursed whoever put him into this position that was until he’d turned fourteen, his sister had suddenly become erratic and then one night there was a loud pop that had awoken him. In the morning he woke up and found out that she had tried to use forbidden magic and it had back lashed and killed her. His mother had been furious about it, he could hear her screaming at everyone to find out how and why. He had kept himself hidden but she bursted into his room and dragged him down to the room where it happened just to show him the bloody mess that was once Lucinda.
“You want to live, child?” She asked.
“Yes mother.” He told her with a quick nod.
“Good I want you to find out what your stupid sister was up to and why she is spider fodder.” She told him. “You have two hours, when I come back you better have an explanation.” She snapped, tossing him into Lucinda’s bedroom and then closing the door.
He blinked in the dim light of the large room, it was fully furnished and the bed was large he could fit 6 of his tiny mattresses on it. He wondered what could have driven her to want to give up all of this luxury. Even the worst of her clothes were high grade compared to his own. He walked around and looked into drawers and under her bed, then under her pillow and mattress he then checked her book shelf and pulled several books out and looked at them, one of them seemed off to him. It took him a moment to realize it wasn’t an actual book but a secret box, so he opened it up and inside found her journal. He flipped through it using the light of the full moon he found exactly what his mother had been looking for.
“I had another dream again, I died in this one too, I even sacrificed that useless omega boy since things seemed dier. Yet no matter what I did or what I tried that girl won the prince over and over and I was sent to prison and shortly after my head rolled. I don’t get it, why does she get to live in my dreams? From what I can recall of my dreams she is a light magic user and that means that the demon king is waking up? Is he giving me these dreams to try and find a way to defeat her? Are these not dreams but visions of the future?” He read aloud to his mother. “It goes on and on how she tries to do everything including not bullying her and still something happens and she gets found out for her deeds she even has her fall in love with one of the other boys but still he breaks things off with her and she is killed. This went on for a month and her writing gets more and more maddening.” He said, flipping through the journal. He didn’t want to tell her that she started just blaming her mother, but she even killed her in one line and, well, that didn’t end well. “So her last entry is her talking about attempting a body swap and how you would take care of the fake.” He told her.
“That kind of magic is well beyond her means of powers, foolish girl, perhaps she did us a favor and killed this girl as well.” She said annoyed. She looked him up and down. “Perhaps you can…” She muttered under her breath and bit her nail, there was no way she was going to tell the Emperor what had really happened. “Sheena! Come take the boy and get him cleaned up and give him a hot meal, we have a week to get him ready.” She told the half dark elf maid who came in the moment she was called.
“Yes ma’am.” She said with a bow.
“Give him the room at the end of the hall, if all goes well he’ll be staying there from now on.” She added. This confused Lua who looked at the half dark elf girl with her black hair and dark green eyes, her skin was the same brown as his own but perhaps a few shades darker with a reddish hue to it almost like she has a permanent sunburn. She was one of the nicer maids, polite and kind even to a male like him, one of the few staff that looked the other way when he stole food or showed up in the library.
“Yes ma’am.” She responded with a nod as she escorted him from his mother’s room. He followed her and she smiled at him showing her pointed teeth, after all he is one of the few that knew she was also half Demonkin. She covered it up with spells hiding her horn, her eyes, and wings. “Would you like a bath first or perhaps to eat first?” She asks once they reach the room at the end of the hall.
“A Bath, I haven’t had one in a long time.” He said a bit excited as she opened the door for him. Everything inside was covered with a protective sheet but the room is large and fully furnished, there’s no balcony but there is a nice window with a table in front of it. It also had its own private bathroom.
“Alright while you take a bath I’ll get you some real clothes and then take care of this room.” She told him as she walked to the bathroom. She used the magic stone to turn on the water and then she used another magic stone to heat up the bathwater. She added a small amount of soap and bath oil, though the scents were more feminin they would have to do for now. Once that was done she walked back out and found him looking at the furniture under the sheets and then leaving them on as if he was afraid to actually touch it. “Come on young master, let's get you all cleaned up.” She said, pushing him towards the bath. Once inside the bathroom she stripped him of his dirty clothes, the shirt too big for him and the pants that were just a bit too small for him that smelt like they hadn’t been washed in ages. He was skinny all skin and bones, and he was embarrassed by this. If the Matron wanted him to be presentable a week would not do, he’d need a month or so of healthy eating before he would be barely presentable. “Ahh what am I going to do with you?” She said, looking him over. “Let’s scrub you down first.” She said standing him over the drain.
“I can do that myself.” He told her, his cheeks were red as he knew what he looked like.
“Nope it’s my job, and don’t go covering yourself I’ve seen you all. Now close your eyes.” She told him as she scooped out some water with a small bucket and poured it slowly over his head.
He reluctantly let her wash him down before leaving him to soak in the bathtub. It felt good to be in the hot water and to feel really clean, but he was embarrassed that she’d seen his skinny naked body, he wasn’t all skin and bone but he was smaller than his age and there for looked younger than he was. He should have been taller but right now he was just barely 5 ft and 100 pounds soaking wet. He had no clue what his mother wanted from him, but he was going to enjoy living this life even if it was for a week, maybe she would just send him off. The worst she could do was to sacrifice him in hopes of getting her daughter back but that might be beyond what she could do and from the glimpse of the room she’d have to use parts of him to fix her. The spider had gotten a hold of her quickly and she’d never harm them. He shuddered at the thought and then sunk under the hot water for a moment.
Sheena came back in with fresh sleeping clothes and a fluffy towel. “I could only find some sleeping clothes for you for now.” She told him as she gently dried him off. His hair shone and his skin was lighter. “So this is what you really look like?” She said with a smile. She then got him dressed and brought him back to the bedroom where another servant had brought him a thick mushroom soup and soft bread. She had removed all of the sheets and opened the window to let in the warm summer air to freshen up the room. The bed had been made with fresh blankets and the pillows had been fluffed.
“Is it really alright for me to have this room?” he asked.
“The Matron Mother said it was, so come on, sit down and eat up.” She told him, guiding him to the small table by the window. He sat down and forced himself to slowly eat the soup and bread and then after he felt tired and went to lay down on the small couch till Sheena moved him to the bed instead.
