You know how children are born... yeah that happened.
What was weird was that when Elias was reborn he was not attached to his body. The moment he was yanked from the sacred room, he floated upwards looking down at what was happening around him. To him, it was like watching his now tiny baby body move around on its own.
Elias looked similar to his previous adult self but like a ghost, he couldn't interact with anything. A few minutes after he floated up words in a small gray rectangle that looked like a text box appeared before him along with a soothing voice that said.
{Self-aware soul detected… reincarnation in progress…}
{Separation of awareness complete…}
{Soul has been split into 2 halves. When the body is capable of containing the entire soul, the 2 halves will reunite and complete the reincarnation process}
{Estimated time to completion… 13 years}
“What!!!”, Elias shouted.
Elias looked at the people in the room and realized that no one had reacted to him. He couldn't be seen or heard in his current state. Soon after, the text box disappeared.
The room was fairly empty, with only a bed in its center. In the room was the woman who had given birth to Elias, a man that was holding her hand and another woman, the wet nurse. The burly woman with her sleeves rolled smiled at the baby and handed him to his mother. The couple was smiling brightly seemingly over the moon at the birth of their child.
Elias went in closer to take a look at them… and at himself. The young woman– his mother had long flowing black hair that was braided at the end. She had rosy white skin that shone silver as the light from the single window behind her came in. Her piercing red was so soft and warm as she looked at her newly born and healthy baby. She was young and slender but did not appear as delicate as her expression, her arms were toned signifying that whatever her occupation was she put effort into it.
His father on the other hand looked slightly older, around 20 years old but he seemed a bit more complicated. He smiled just as brightly and was too excited, the wet nurse was trying to calm him down. He had black dreadlocks that became light brown towards the ends, they flowed neatly into a bun that rested at the base of his neck. His russet brown skin sparkled in the sunlight as he waved his hand in excitement. He had a small scar on his chin and thick eyebrows. The twinkling in his light golden eyes as he looked at his family made this large muscular man seem as harmless as an innocent child.
They were Elias’ parents and they were happy that he was born.
After looking at his parents Elias looked at the baby that was himself.
The baby looked back and forth at the people that were excitedly cheering and cuddling him. The baby had curly black hair; although it wasn’t much, it managed to cover his head that rested in the blanket. Like the Sahara desert, the baby’s light brown skin sparkled as beams of light managed to get past his mother. With one hand he clung to the white blanket he was wrapped in and with the other, he reached out to his mother as he looked up at her with his deep amber eyes.
The couple began speaking to each other.
“What do you think would be a good name for him, Odeus”, asked Elias’ mother to his father.
“Hmmm, I don’t know Milana. I’ll leave it up to you but we could name him after your grandfather I think…I know you were close with him” said Odeus trying to get the attention of his child.
“Oh hahaha, I think that’s a great idea. Axellion… hmm let’s name him Axelleus and we’ll call him Axel as they did with my grandfather” said Milana.
Odeus was shocked and held a hand to hide his face as his eyes became teary. Milana laughed and began poking him in his muscular arms.
“Axelleus Blackstone… it’s a fine name don't you think?” asked Milanna to Odeus.
He nodded in agreement and they both chuckled.
Elias who was watching the lovey-dovey scene before him accepted the new name. He considered him to be both Elias Wilson and Axelleus Blackstone. However, he decided to completely assume the name after he was fully reincarnated and thought of himself as Elias until then.
A few days passed since then and Elias figured out some new things about his new ghastly form. He couldn't move too far away from his body, he would run into a barrier that would push him towards his physical body. He could only be about 10 meters in any direction from the baby. Elias also couldn’t interact with anything, not even walls he would pass right through them. He didn’t feel hunger or any other discomfort that came with life. This made him worry a bit but he convinced himself that he was fine and took comfort in the words from the mysterious text box.
Elias spent his days watching his tiny body moving about and being taken care of. It was weird and a bit hard watching his baby self receiving so much love and care. He never had that for himself in his past life and was still not allowed to have it in the current one.
A month had passed and from Elias’ perspective, he could tell he lived in a huge building. The halls are almost never-ending and the concrete walls are well decorated. The lower half of the wall had decorative wooden panels and above it was some spiral floral designs made from the same material. So far he has only been to 3 rooms: his– baby Axell’s room, his parents’ room and the grand dining room. They were all huge and well-decorated rooms even though it seemed like they could use some upkeep.
In the mansion there were lots of people among them there were 5 attendants that would serve Elias’ mother and father. There were others to whom the attendants would show respect as they would to Odeus and Milana. Elias would only see those people whenever they happened to visit the grand dining room. Only pleasantries were exchanged between them and his parents. They weren’t exactly hostile but the other adults appeared standoffish.
An early morning after Miliana had fed Axel they went and sat at the window nook in Axel’s room, enjoying the morning sun. Odeus sat on a chair across the room holding Axel’s attire for the day. A few minutes later one of the attendants knocked and entered the room. He lowered his head and greeted them. After they acknowledged him, he raised his head and told them that everyone was ready.
Axel’s parents looked at each other and got serious. Elias who was floating in the corner had no idea what was going on. The couple picked up their son and changed him into a gown that completely covered his feet. Odeus and Miliana then left the room escorted by the attendant.
