Lua wasn’t worried much about tomorrow’s finals; it was just math and magic and those were his best classes. He walked alone as Ivan had to go grab a book from the Library and was surprised to see Henri waiting for him, thanks to his friends and food he was already in a better mood but seeing him now? He didn’t know what to feel, he was still mad at him and honestly he was a little afraid. Henri saw him and smiled that brilliant smile that made his heart race a little and he felt his fear just eb away.
“Lua, I was hoping to catch you alone.” He said walking up to him. “You were right, we have been spoiling Marissa too much, and having heard everything you were right, today and could have been a much bigger incident. I am also hoping that she will be learning her lesson after the proper scolding she got today.” He told him.
“I see…” Lua mumbled unsure of what to do or where this was going.
“I also want to apologize for my recent behavior.” He said taking his hands into his own and lightly kissing his knuckles. “I should have checked on you after the accident. I should have been there for you instead of ignoring it thinking it wasn’t that important. I could have seriously lost you and I don’t know how I would deal with that.” He told him honestly. He could see Henri’s disappointment in himself and he sighed as he gave into his heart and forgave him.
“I forgive you, this time, and only this time.” He told him. He felt this would be a lie but who knew what the future would hold? Henri’s eyes lit up hearing this.
“I’d also like to ask you to be my partner at the graduation ball.”
“I thought you’d already asked Marissa.”
“Why would I do that? Lua you are my Fiance.”
“You’ve had weeks to ask me and you only think about asking me now, and then there are the others who haven’t even asked their fiance's. Do you know how disappointed we’ve all been in you all?” He might have forgiven him but he wasn’t about to let the others walk all over his friends. “If you talk to them and get them all to ask their fiancees then I’ll think about accepting.”
“They haven’t? Why not?”
“Well, much like yourself they’ve been ignoring them and paying attention to Marissa only.” He pointed out. “So if you get them to at least ask I’ll go with you.”
Henri tried to think about it but he knew he was right, they had been so caught up in their parents' words of trying to be nice to Marissa, they’d forgotten their places. “I’ll do that for you and anything else.”
Lua smiled and then stood on his tip toes and gently kissed his lips. “That’s all I can ask of you right now.” He told him. Henri smiled and then let him go.
“I’ll go talk to them now.” He told him as he leaned down and kissed him.
“Don’t forget to study for tomorrow’s finals as well.” Lua told him going red from the kiss, his ears quivered in joy to be so close with Henri to have kissed him again.
“I won’t.” He promised as he smiled and then walked him the short distance to his dorm.
Henri kept his promise and each of the boy’s by the next day had asked their fiance’s to the graduation ball, though none of them were actually graduating. It was just more of a year end Ball to show off what you had learned during the year. This was just for the students so it was more relaxed. The day before the tests were announced, Lua had proven himself to be Fourth in his class while Henri was Second and Ethan was Third. Leon had managed to somehow come out as first in the graduating year. Lua was sure it’s because he wanted to prove to Ethan he was worthy, they were so cute together. It was also no surprise to the girls that Marissa was at the bottom of her year.
Henri had picked up Lua at the dorm and was surprised to see him in what looked like a slim skirt but as he walked it opened into pants. He was glad he had bought the shawl that was made of a fine violet tulle dotted with silver stars and edged in silver moons to cover his delectable shoulders. It was light enough to wear the whole night as it was late spring so the weather was mostly warm but the nights still had a bit of a chill. Henri had always thought Lua had looked handsome even if he was starting to look more masculin, he was that slim masculin that wasn’t too hard but not soft. Most of all he appreciated that his ass had become more defined. He found he could watch him walk in front of him all night as the pants seemed to flaunt it, he also wanted to protect it from other’s. Lua was oblivious about this, he was just happy to be with Henri and happy to see the others with their Fiances just as happily together. Marissa was there as well, mostly being ignored and pouting she wasn’t seemingly getting her way. At least that was now it was for the first half of the ball, Lua had danced three times with Henri and had danced with all of them during the group dances. Now it was time for formal announcements to take place, Leon was honored as top of his class and he fully announced he was the crowned prince of the Beastman Kingdom, and that he was fully pursuing Ethan. Ethan had turned bright red but he stayed by his side, it had been obvious to everyone for the last few months that Leon was pursuing him.
The second half of the ball Marissa had asked Henri to dance, and thought Lua didn’t want him to, he couldn’t be selfish and he let him, but then one song turned into two and anxiety started to rise in Lua’s chest. Lidia noticed it and brought over his favorite dessert to distract him. Henri came back and apologized, he hadn’t noticed the song change, he had also not had a very good time and from the scuffs on top of his once clean boots he could tell why, Marissa wasn’t a skilled dancer at all and had stepped all over his feet. Lua let him sit down and got him something to drink but when he came back Marissa was in his seat next to him full out flirting with him. He got frustrated but then walked over calmly and gave Henri the punch. Henri looked at him and then smiled with thanks and then pulled him down into the other chair next to him before he could walk away. He blushed slightly as Henri’s warm hand held his and Marissa started to look a little annoyed as Henri was starting to tune her out as he turned to him and started flirting a little. He felt more relaxed with Henri. It was fine now, but that didn’t last long as another song came up and Henri stood to ask him but Marissa grabbed his hands and pulled him out onto the floor before he could. This was a scene from the game, this was where Marissa first dances with the prince and they have their first kiss on the dance floor. Marissa actually danced perfectly without missing a single step and she looked amazingly beautiful with Henri, he could hear the other’s comment about it even though he was standing right there. Then as the song ended Marissa beamed and her joy was contagious as Henri smiled and complimented her and then he kissed her, he didn’t know why but he did. Lua’s heart broke, even though it was a small kiss. A lot of people saw it and whispers started flying.
He turned and walked out trying not to cry, he knew his mother was going to hear about this and that was going to mean a summer of trouble. He walked into the nearest bathroom and sat down and took slow deep breaths while forcing himself not to cry. He didn’t know how long he sat in there breathing slowly when a gentle tap came on the door.
“Lua…?” Ivan called from the other side of the door.
“Yeah?” He answered with a sniff, he rubbed his eyes.
“You wanna talk?”
“I don’t know… maybe, I just want to go back to the dorms.” He told him honestly.
“Give me 5 minutes and we’ll go together.”
He heard him rush off as he got up and looked at himself in the mirror, he looked like he felt, heartbroken. He turned on the faucet and washed his face then gently patted it dry, the little bit of makeup he had worn was now washed away. He couldn’t wear much anyways there were few that catered to dark elves. He heard Ivan come back and he opened the door and found his friend grinning as he held a rather large bundle. “What is that?”
“Oh I just took all the macarons they just put out and there will be no more tonight.” He said with joyus glee. Lua had to laugh at this, everyone knew the macarons were the best desserts and the fact that they’d all been freshly stolen by his friend just for him was the best thing that could have been done.
“You mad genius, let’s get out of here.” He said feeling a little better as he took his friend's arm and they quickly made for the exit. They then dashed to the Omega Male Dorms that only housed a good 5 students. “What about the others?” Lua asked as they slipped into the dorm with their key. The Dorm mother looked up as they came in.
“You two are back early.” She said as they walked across the main floor.
“Yes, well someone was being a dick and another someone just did something incredibly stupid.” Ivan told her. “You’ll hear all about it in the morning I’m sure.” He added he opened the bundle and gave her five of the marcons. “Fresh from the ball, we’re going up to Lua’s room.” He told her as he took Lua’s arm and they walked up the steps to his room. “I told Lidia and Felicia we were leaving, so they probably told the others.”
“Thanks, and thanks for this.” He said motioning to the large bundle. “I think I could eat half of them by myself at the moment.”
“Then I’ll gladly eat the other half, and we can go into sugar comas together.” Ivan joked as Lua opened the door to his room. The dorm rooms were all the same, large open rooms with a desk, a sitting area for tea, and then two bedrooms and a private bathroom. One room would be smaller with a plain bed, a small writing desk, and small closet that belonged to Sheena, the other had a larger bed and a dresser and a large walk-in closet that was Lua’s room. Sheena poked her head out hearing them walk in.
“Master Lua’aZaer, you’re back early? Oh Master Ivan you’re here too.” She looked down at her night dress, she hadn’t been expecting him back or with company.
“Don’t worry about getting changed.” Ivan told her. “Do we have any lemonade or punch?” He asked.
“We have some yes.”
“Then bring it out and come join us for a late night snack of macarons we stole from the ball.” Lua told her. “Actually, do you mind if I make a quick change?” He asked.
“Not at all, actually let me put this down and I’ll change as well and come back.” Ivan said feeling silly as he put the bundle on the table.
He walked out and both Lua and himself changed into night clothes and sat with Sheena to have Lemonade, water, and macarons and to talk. Ivan spent the night with Lua in the large bed. Sheena had gotten angry hearing what had happened and in the morning she brought the two of them breakfast so they didn’t have to go out. Lua had cried a bit in the night but Ivan and Sheena were there for him. They packed his things in the afternoon. Sheena had also gone to get them lunch and promised the girls and only the girls they would join them for dinner. They met for a late dinner run as Ivan and Lua had both lost track of time packing between the two of them. It turned out Henri didn’t think much of the peck and hadn’t noticed his absence for another hour and had danced another round with Marissa. That had annoyed Lua when he found out. The worst was looking at all of the local papers, even the campus paper but, at least they had the decency to put it onto page 2 instead of the front page. The Campus paper’s front page was the graduating class as well as Prince Leon’s proposal to Ethan. The second page was all about the scandal, Henri’s father was outraged at the whole thing and at lunch had summoned his son home. A letter of apology was sent from the royal family with promises to speak to Henri about the situation and the newspapers.
Lua spent the next day making sure his room was clean and nothing was left behind and then his family’s Carriage showed up to take him home for the summer. He was dreading everything seeing as his mother wrote him a letter telling him he was to come home immediately and a promise of a punishment. She never cared what she wrote to him, he was compelled to burn the letters after. It was a long 6 hour journey home sitting quietly in the cart with his only companions of his familiar and Sheena. He was glad he’d at least gotten a quick lunch with his friends before leaving. They would write and he would go visit if he was allowed.
