In one bloody summer a centuries old myth is confirmed to be a reality; vampires exist. Just three years later the United States government has made great strides in their efforts to eliminate these “soul eaters” through the founding of the Center for Supernatural Defense. Despite the success of these efforts, vampire related crime continues to threaten public safety. Among the most concerned is a half-vampire, Chance Anderson.
Forcibly made a soul eater in that summer of bloody revelation, Chance has found himself struggling to exist within the communities of vampires. Chance finds himself trying act as a liaise and protector of both humans and vampires. In this quest, he follows the actives of both vampires and the CSD agents closely. This espionage and vigilantism leads him through a series of devastating discoveries and trials.
