“Jack, wake up we are almost there.” Jack could hear his mother talking as he was waking up, they had been driving for a few hours, but Jack had been asleep for most of the ride. If it wasn’t for his father getting lost a few times and his mother having to use the bathroom all the time they would have gotten there sooner. “Where are we?” “We are close to our new home and hopefully it will be our last, at least for some time.” It was hard to describe his mother’s voice and face at that moment because she seemed sad, but her voice sounded almost relieved like she knew something Jack didn’t.
“Now go and pick the room you want then come and help empty the car.” “Yes, pater. Do you know when the moving truck is here?” “We told them to come tomorrow so that they did not come before we did.” Jack nodded as he went into the house.
Inside the house was a hallway with two doors one on the left side leading to a bathroom and one on the right side leading into what looks like a storage closet with shelves lining the walls. Further inside the house was a big open space which seems to be the living room if you looked to the right, you would see the kitchen with a kitchen island separating the two rooms and to the left a set of stairs leading upstairs to where the rooms are. Walking upstairs you will see four doors, one almost right in front of the stairs leading into another bathroom and again two doors one to the right and one to the left which looked to be the same size and the last door was sort of behind the stairs it leads into a room that looked a little smaller than the other two, so it was properly going to be the guest room.
Jack chose the room to the left since the window was looking out to the street and by looking at the street there was a higher chance of not seeing a wolf in the forest even though where they lived now there wasn’t really any forest nearby.
Jack walked outside again to help his parents “Did you find a room you like sweetie?” “There is not really anything to like right now, since the rooms are empty. But I think I like the empty room to the left a little more.” Jack smiled as he looked at his mother, Madalena laugh a little as she listened to her son “Yeah, I guess you’re right.” “Jack, I have arranged it, so you start school next week, today is Wednesday so that gives us four days to at least find your school stuff in one of the boxes.” “Yeah, that will properly be a good idea, so I don’t show up without anything. Thanks, pater.” Madalena walked over to her son to hug him “I hope you will find some good friends at this school some actual friends not just someone who uses you.” She kissed his forehead and went back to the car “Now before all that come help your mater empty the car so we can get something to eat.”
