Chapter 3
After I leave the cafe I think about the conversation about Yooki and what happened and how this was my first time seeing Kinkay cry and cuss. He likes to talk about how I cuss more in one day than he has his entire life. Poor guy, I can tell he loved Yooki.
I get a text on my phone and check it, It’s from my dad, shit I forgot to get dinner, I’ll just call for a pizza and head home.
By the time I get home the pizza guy walks up to the door, I quickly pay him and walk inside. As soon as I walk in a bottle is smashed over my head. Everything goes black.
I wake up on the floor where I was hit, I work my way to my feet and see my parents sitting down watching a movie and eating pizza. I walk to my room and lay down, hardly able to keep my eyes open. My head hurts, since he hit me by surprise I wasn’t able to dodge it. I hate it here.
I skipped school since my head still hurt and the light made it worse, never missed a day of school before so it’s weird not going, instead, I just laid down with my door locked and stayed completely quiet so my parents wouldn’t know I was home. This makes me wonder how Kinkay was able to put up with staying here. Speaking of Kinkay, I sent him a text about what happened, he hasn’t looked at it yet, he must be busy with work. I lay down and close my eyes but after a while, I heard my phone go off, it was not Kinkay like I expected it to be, It was an unknown number.
Unknown: Hey, It’s Aika
The text makes my heart skip a beat and my face heats up. I quickly text back.
Yua: Hey! How’d you get my number?
It doesn’t take too long for her to reply
Aika: I asked the teacher for it, I wanted to make sure you were ok, you never missed school before, the teachers were worried too
I stare at my phone for a little while.
Yua: You were worried?
She replies a bit slower this time
Aika: Maybe, anyways hurry up and get better!
I smile
Yua: Will do!
I smile more and lay back hugging my phone, my face heats up more as I read her last text again and again. She sends another text and when I read it my heart stops and my face heats up even more causing it to burn.
Aika: good girl
