Chapter 1

     Let’s start off this story with my back story, My parents met in high school and were lovely high school sweethearts, talk about gag. When I was born my dad decided to name me Yua, a Japanese name that means “Binding Love and Affection” how cute right. I have always been an only child loved by my parents, that is until my parents passed away in a car crash by a harsh storm when I was 3. After the accident, I couldn’t talk and I ended up going to an orphanage, but I wasn’t adopted until I was 6, no one wanted a girl who couldn’t speak. The family that adopted me wasn’t the best, and they only adopted me because their son left, so they wanted to try raising a daughter, that’s working well, however that’s where the present comes in. 

   Hi, I’m Yua and I’m 16, I was born half Russian and half Japanese. I get good grades but I hardly talk, and I’m an outcast at school. Fun right? I’ve been going to the same school since first grade, no one talks to me and when they do it’s often something about me being different, teens don’t like different things.

   I never had any friends throughout school, not even in elementary, however, there was one girl, who had long, curly, dark brown hair. She was quiet like me, and she never talked to anyone, I’ve tried talking to her before but she only replied with short comments, so I figured she didn’t like me, this girl’s name is Aika, which means Love Song.

   I’ve had a crush on Aika since Elementary. Yes, I’m lesbian, surprising I know. That’s one of the reasons I get bullied, no one knows I like Aika, but they know I like a girl cause one guy decided to read my diary in front of the entire class, what an asshole.

   This asshole's name is Damian, the school jock that gets terrible grades but still somehow gets all the girls, he has his heart set on Bethany, the head of the cheer team, not surprising. The girl all the guys want and all the girls want to be, she has long blonde hair that’s always in a high ponytail, she always has a face full of makeup, and she is always breaking the school dress code, she wears crop tops and shorts or skirts that show the bottom of her ass, and the knee-high bright pink socks don’t go with the outfit.

   Now that that’s out of the way, Damian and his gang just cornered me so I’ll be right back. 

  “What do you want, Damian, I’m broke if that’s what you want to know,” that’s a lie, I have 20 bucks on me from babysitting, but if they strip search me they will go to prison, so I don’t have to worry about that.

  “I still want to know who the girl is that you wrote about,”

  “oh my god, you ask this every day, give it up, I’m not telling you,”

  “Tell me or else,”

   “Or else what? Are you gonna hit me? Your dad works in the school and he loves me as an academic student, you won’t do shit,” after I say that they walk away without saying anything, and I continue walking to class, I accidentally bump into Aika in the hallway and I apologize and pick up her books for her.

 “Thank you,” she says quietly.

 “Mhm,” I reply, my heart feels like it’s going to explode. When I stand up she tucks her hair behind her ear with a smile, I quickly look away with my face heating up.

 “See you later,” Aika says and walks away patting my shoulder. I smile to myself as I walk to my class, maybe, just maybe I might have a chance to at least become friends with her.
