Time froze… the sound of Axel’s scream echoed in the void. The rage that emanated from both halves of the soul resonated.
{Anomaly detected}
An invisible force began pulling Elias downward. He didn’t know what was happening and fought against its pull.
{Resonance from both halves of the soul is causing them to reunite}
“What”, he yelled. “It hasn’t been 13 years yet”.
{Sigh…}
{That is why it is called an anomaly…}
“Huh”, the exasperation that came from the mysterious voice shocked Elias causing him to lose focus. At that moment he was pulled down from the sky, he then collided with and was absorbed by his body– Axel.
In that Split Second, he was absorbed into the body. Elias and Axel were no longer separate entities, they were one.
Time that seemed to be frozen resumed, however, now it was Axel who seemed frozen as he stopped moving in his father’s arms. The immense rage felt by both halves of the soul became one and it could no longer be expressed. Axel now with his soul complete, fell into a silent rage.
He slowly turned his face from his father's chest and looked into the eyes of the man who orchestrated this charade, Thomas Blackstone.
A chilling bloodlust was being emitted from this child and everyone could feel it. Thomas locked eyes with Axel. He felt it and felt that it was directed at him. He felt the threat and returned a scornful gaze.
Fearing Axel would trigger his mana, Odeus quickly and gently knocked him unconscious. Everyone was puzzled and wondering what had just happened. Odeus picked up Axel and handed him over to Elder Ernis. His only objective was now to collect his deceased wife's body and lay her to rest in the comforts of her home.
But once again the guards stepped forth and blocked his path.
"What is the meaning of this? You got what you wanted, hand over her body", yelled Odeus.
"I'm afraid I can't do that… The girl's family have already laid their claims to it", said Thomas. "The show is over, everyone. Who knows, if these fools ever step out of line again then we will just have to punish them again". Thomas smirked and walked away.
At the same time Klaus, Miliana's brother and a few guards in different armor came onto the scene. They went onto the platform and retrieved Miliana's body.
"What is the meaning of this Klaus", yelled Odeus.
"Tsk…You didn't deserve her and you still don't", replied Klaus.
"What!". Odeus was furious.
"Odeus!", Elder Ernis interrupted. "This is not the time".
Odeus snapped back to his senses and realized the hateful and greed-filled looks they were receiving from the nobles around them. These people would take any chance they could get to eliminate Odeus and his family to plunder what little they had.
Odeus took his son from his father and began walking away; he could only watch as Klaus' guards took his wife's body away.
They immediately left the capital and went back home. They explained what had happened to the rest of the family and they could only keep silent. They knew nothing they said could help Odeus. On the other hand, they were a bit worried about Axel who had not woken up once during the journey home. They even took their time riding back, this added an extra day to the 4-day journey.
2 days after reaching home Axel awoke at midnight. He was weak but he managed to sit upright in his bed. He noticed that his father was asleep in a chair next to his bed.
Axel took a moment to organize his thoughts. All his memories as both Elias and Axelleus had merged completely, even the emotions that came with those memories. A single tear ran from Axel's eye. Then and there he decided that in order for him to live in peace in this new world he needed to destroy those people and any other who would do harm to his family. He would build a great life and have everything that he didn’t in his previous one.
What Axel did not know was that he was neither the innocent little boy that was born in this world nor a regular college guy who came from another world. He was something different. The years he spent isolated and the trauma he experienced changed him. He was now a completely different being and it was up to him to figure out who he wanted to be.
For the next few weeks, Axel mostly stayed in his room. He barely had an appetite but he ate what his attendant Yohan brought for him. He didn’t think that his first moments of him truly being in another world would start off so gruesome. He was also wondering if the mysterious voice and text box would ever appear again but since then it hasn’t. Axel didn’t interact with his family much since then but he did find a little comfort being around his father and baby siblings.
A few months passed and Axel started feeling less depressed. He would occasionally walk around the mansion and explore the garden. He was not allowed to leave the mansion grounds even with escorts, not that he was interested in doing so.
Axel’s eighth birthday was around the corner but he firmly expressed that he did not want to celebrate it. His father knew why and respected his wishes. Axel also expressed that he would definitely celebrate the birth of his younger twin siblings. This made Odeus happy, he now knew that he had not lost his son to despair or resentment.
Axel’s birthday came and went. His life had remained uneventful since that incident. However, he came to somewhat enjoy life as it was.
Events after events had happened and each time the beginning of Axel’s education was postponed but this time nothing could stop it. Odeus informed Axel that he should expect his lessons to begin soon. Although Axel didn’t see it as that important since he had already been to college. However, he agreed since there is always something to learn, especially in a new world.
Odeus and Wendi began searching for a private tutor for Axel but it was something more difficult than necessary. No one who was remotely qualified wanted to work with the Blackstone branch family even if they lived in the territory. That is until one evening after an official meeting Odeus had with the lords and other officials who worked under him. He casually mentioned to Astrid, the adventurer's guild leader and a baron to whom he was closest, that he was searching for a tutor for Axel.
“A tutor huh, hmmm. I know of someone that’s qualified, I think… and dirt cheap too, but…”, said Astrid.
“At this point, anyone trustworthy and a bit qualified will do”, replied Odeus.
“Yeah, he’s trustworthy. Just extremely annoying. He’s my younger brother. You’d be doing me a favor taking him off my hands. I mean who goes to a city with food issues and starts eating like there’s no tomorrow”, Astrid complained.
“Ahahaha”, Odeus laughed awkwardly. “Oh yeah, it’s been a while since I last saw your brother. Send him up here, I’ll introduce him to Axel”.
“Sure thing”, she replied enthusiastically.
