There are a lot of things I could to say to explain why Deaths Apprentice hasn't been updating. Anywhere from my mental health state or that I'm working full time now. Along with the fact that I had forgotten my password and only recently regained access. Hahaha... ha...
(I cannot explain to you the level of panic I first experienced when I couldn't log back into my account)
But basically I had gone through a really bad burnout, and wasn't too keen on writing until recently.
However I've taken an interest in comic/webcomic creation instead! But with work and my day to day life, the progress has been rather slow.
In addition to this I also have, like, six other major stories that are as big as Death's Apprentice. If not bigger and growing by the week. Along with several other smaller ones that I'm trying to neatly tuck away into the larger stories mentioned previously.
I call this "the Big 6 Project," (I just decided this right now).
But it'll be really cool because they're all in the same universe/multiverse or somehow intertwined, and there will-be-a-lot-of-reallycoolcameosand-
*gasp*
Sorry I got a bit excited there.
As for Deaths Apprentice, don't worry. I haven't given up on it yet. Though it might be awhile before you see the notifacation for it's updates. I haven't decided if it will stay a novel, come back as a comic, or maybe both??? That would be so cool. Regarless it is bound to undergo some major changes, like the title and the story pacing. But the actual story itself will remain relatively unchanged as I have put a lot of work into it and like where it is going.
But no matter what happens, when Death's Apprentice is ready to come back, you will know!
And for the few of you who have stubbornly stayed subscribed, I am grateful. Maybe you forgot, or you have some crazy patience, or it's because of something else. I still sincerely thank you. You guys are weird.
Her whole life, Othala has been raised to one day take her masters place as Royal Executioner of the Tarean Kingdom. A role only those with Death's Mark can perform. Though it's something she'd trained for since she was young, Othala was unprepared for the ceremony she had to complete in order to inherit the title.
As the next headsman (or headswoman, mind you), her job is to punish those who are guilty, even if they truly aren't.
One or two years after officially claiming the title of Royal Executioner, Othala is a recluse, taking joy in the company of plants and animals rather than people. She strongly believes her only purpose is to kill at the order of the king, hoping that if she's obedient she'll be left alone. When one day Othala is approached by a mysterious stranger who makes her question the executioners true purpose....
