I knew something wasn’t right the moment I woke up, but I was stunned when I realized just what it was. A heavy weight rested around my waist, and I felt the firmness of someone pressed against my back. Feeling my heart stumbling in my chest, my eyes snapped open and I peeked over my shoulder, a little afraid of what I might see.
Fuck my life.
Rylan was sound asleep behind me, his lips slightly parted. I realized then that the heaviness around me was his arm wrapped around my waist. I wracked my brain, trying to remember what had happened last night, but I was coming up blank.
Did I drag him into bed with me?
Did he learn my secret?
Why is he still here?
I nervously bit into my bottom lip, debating if I was going to need to wake him up or not. It was tempting, needing to know how much he knew, but at the same time, I was afraid, and I didn’t even want to think about it. I was wearing my clothes thankfully, and I didn’t think that we had done anything because I didn’t feel sore.
“Come back to sleep.” Rylan grumbled, his eyes still closed as he applied pressure to my stomach, “it’s too early in the morning for this.”
I glanced over at the clock beside the bed, seeing it was about nine in the morning. I knew that after the party last night, I really doubted that everyone was going to be up this morning. Did Lucas and Xavier see this? What would they think of me?
“Did… did something happen last night?” I asked him, looking down at him nervously.
His eyes flashed open, and he gazed up at me with this dark expression on his face, like he was pissed, “excuse me?”
A tremble went down my spine, averting my eyes as I felt the tension rising in the air, “I… I was a little drunk last night, and it seems I can’t remember what happened… or why you are in my bed.”
I thought I was being as polite as I could be, but as Rylan sat up in the bed, the blanket falling around his waist, exposing his muscular upper body, I was a little horrified when I saw red marks on his neck, obviously from someone sucking on it. My cheeks flamed, realizing the situation I was in.
“I did that?” I whispered, mortified.
“You kissed me last night.” Rylan clarified, sounding a little agitated, “and initiated it more than once. I stopped it before it went too far, but I can’t believe you don’t remember anything. Wow.”
“I was intoxicated.” I defended myself, throwing the blankets off of me as I got out of bed, “if I kissed you, then that’s my problem and I’ll take responsibility for it, but why are you getting upset with me?”
“Because I’ve been wanting to do that since I laid eyes on you.” He growled, getting out of bed, making me feel a little small, seeing that he wore just a pair of tight boxers that did not hide anything to the eyes, “and last night, it showed me that a part of you wants the same thing… but now you’re hiding again. You’re shutting me out like everyone else.”
I couldn’t look at him, feeling like he was reprimanding me slightly, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Rylan, it was just a drunken m-”
I jumped in surprise as his forearm slammed against the wall, making a loud noise that made me jump. He was glaring coldly down at me, and I could feel his pheromones surrounding me even though I couldn’t smell them.
Yep, he’s pissed.
That is not a good thing to do to a Dominant Alpha.
“A drunken mistake?” He growled lowly, “is that what you’re going to tell me?”
I knew I was treading down a bad path, and I needed to be really careful on what I say, “okay, it wasn’t a mistake persay, but we are both Alphas. We can’t be together like that.”
It was obviously a fib, feeling a gut-sinking feeling washing over me, but he laughed, “you’re really going to use that as an excuse, Icarus. I knew you were flighty, but I didn’t think you would stoop as low as to use our secondary gender as a reason why we can’t be together. It seems to me that you are afraid to do so… because you might actually fall for me.”
It was like a punch to the gut, but I wasn’t going to let him see just how much his words affected me, “you’re wrong, Rylan, I just don’t want you to make things any more difficult than it already is. Just please forget about what happened last night, and I will do the same.
I really expected him to hit me, but I didn’t give him the chance to. I whipped around, rushing out of the room, heading straight for the bathroom. I slammed the door shut behind me, locking it as I tried to calm myself down.
Bracing myself on the sink, I looked down, griamcing when I saw the hard bulge in my pants that luckily Rylan was unable to see because of the shirt I wore…
My body can’t even deny it.
