- Destiny -
I hated this man.
His cocky smile, his charming gestures, his odd demeanour and ever-changing mood swings.
And I wanted more of him.
"Our pair is down there. The guy rushing down those steps is Caden Jones and the lady by the pole dancing stage is Cassidy Rose," he informed me.
He was pressed up behind me, pointing the two people out to me as we leaned against the railing of the second floor.
"What do we do now?" I asked quietly, my heart pounding wildly inside me at our closeness.
I stay true to my word, he smelt amazing.
He glanced down at me, the gold in his eyes captivating me, "We shoot them."
I raised an eyebrow, "Shoot them with what?"
Then I realised the two heavy cases resting in a booth just a distance away.
"With a bow and arrow of course," Eros mumbled matter of factly and I scoffed.
He gave me a look as he opened one case, revealing a magnificent golden bow with delicate Greek designs, he wasn't kidding.
"How funny of you, cupid knock off," I remarked and he chuckled, shaking his head.
He opened the second case, revealing two sleek arrows with strong cherry scents, "Cupid that fucker has taken most of the credit for what I've done. Pay no more attention to him Princess, I'm the real deal."
Mmm...
A shiver coursed through me at his confidence, but the stubborn part of me acted nonchalant about it, "Well then, show me how it's done."
He smirked, really handsomely and slipped the arrow onto the bow, "I hope you like watching people get hurt."
"Not as much as you do," I remarked drily.
He gave me a playful look and pulled the string, aiming it at the man he mentioned earlier and let the arrow fly.
I watched as the arrow hit his heart and my mouth fell open, I can't believe I'm letting him do this.
The man lurched forward very slightly and the arrow vanished into thin air.
What in the world?
The man blinked for a moment then his gaze zoned in on the lady he was supposed to be paired with. She stepped up on the stage, her legs wobbly, probably from drinking.
Eros touched my hand and I felt a warmth scorch through me.
"The arrows disappear the moment they hit their target. Leaving nothing but the lust and passion in their veins," his voice dropped an octave and I gasped, feeling his arm snake around my waist.
He dipped his head down to my neck and he breathed in deeply. I leaned into his touch and pressed my body up against his
He pulled away and placed the bow in my hand, "I'll guide you."
My eyes widened, "Me?"
Eros nodded and strung the second arrow, taking my hands to grip everything in position.
His own huge hands guided and covered mine, his body pressing against my back.
I sneaked a peek to look at him and he pressed his lips to the side of my head, "Focus Destiny, we only have one shot."
How was I supposed to focus with him around?
I turned back to the drunk lady on stage, Eros pulled the string further back and I waited for his instruction to let go.
"Now!" He commanded and I released the arrow.
It flew and pierced right into her heart, the arrow sizzling out into nothing.
I felt my lungs heave out from the nerves within me. I shot her.
I freaking shot another human being! I played cupid!
"How did that feel?" Eros whispered in my ear and the goose bumps on my neck and arms rose.
Why was his presence alone so alluring to me?
"It felt weird. The good kind I guess. I mean, I've never shot an arrow at a human before. But it felt better than I imagined," I glanced up at him and found him gazing down at me.
"Does this mean I get that kiss?" He leaned down a little nearer and I held my breath.
I pulled away slightly, my heart hammering so violently I thought it would just stop and die.
If I kissed him it would've meant that I've lost and only just proven him right, that he was the God of Love.
Which is still freaking insane.
"Technically you just showed me that you're a cupid. Not exactly the God of Love."
He smirked, a smoky sexy look came upon him and he nodded, "I'll show you more."
He placed his bow back into the case and grabbed his bulky baggage before taking my hand.
We walked out of the club to his sparkling white Lamborghini and I rode shotgun. He climbed into the driver's seat and tossed those cases into the back.
"Why don't you just fit the arrows into the case with the bow? I don't see a need to bring two separate cases when you can just take one," I asked absentmindedly.
He was quiet for a moment as he sped down the road, "That's actually a good idea. I've never thought about it."
Wow. How long has he been dragging them around?
"So you've been carrying those two small coffins around for hundreds of years without thinking of an easier way to transport them?"
He chuckled lightly, "Thousands of years actually, I really never thought of it."
I wanted to laugh, but suddenly remembered that he was taking me somewhere I had no knowledge of.
"Where are we going?"
Another seductive smirk from him, "My place."
I eyed him, "I'm not sleeping with you if that's what you want."
I myself didn't believe the words that just flew out of my mouth.
He laughed a hearty laugh and my heart swelled for a moment, he sounded like an angel.
"If I really wanted to sleep with you, do you think you can resist me?" He cast a sideways glance at me and I groaned.
He knew how irresistible he was, all the more I wouldn't give in to him.
"What will you do? Pierce me with an arrow? Prick my finger on a spindle? Make me drink some magic potion?"
"Don't worry babe, I won't need any of that. But I won't sleep with you unless you want me to. I am still a gentleman," he turned into a huge estate and I watched the beautiful green pastures pass us.
This was his home?
The long stretch of his driveway was immaculate. White Greek statues of different kinds of Gods were planted on both sides of the driveway.
As we drove up to his doorstep, we rounded a beautiful water feature. I noticed the Greek details carved on each piece of stone.
Whether it was the pillars, the roof, the fountain, even the slabs of stone the statues were mounted on, it was magnificent.
He stopped right at the doorstep of his white palace and cut the engine. He got out and came over to my side to get my door.
Of course, chivalry isn't dead for the God of Love.
I took his outstretched hand and stepped out of his car, feeling him pull me towards his built body.
His free hand held the small of my back and he hugged me gently, hearing him take another deep breath.
"I've technically never brought anyone into my home before, only my assistant. He barely even steps foot in here," he mumbled and I wondered why he was giving me this piece of information.
"Do you not want me here? I can leave right now if that's what you prefer, it's not the first time you've asked me to leave anyway," I replied saltily.
He pulled away and I saw a sort of sadness in his eyes that made my heart ache. It reminded me of the night I saw him screaming in the middle of the dance floor.
A broken man. A lost God.
"I actually really want you here, I want to show you what I do," his voice was a little excited this time, though his eyes remained incredibly dark.
I gave us some distance and wondered what this man's story was. Behind that cocky and obnoxious exterior, there was something extremely vulnerable on the inside.
"Lead the way then," I gestured and he nodded, grabbing the two suitcases from the back of the vehicle.

- Eros -
I don't exactly know what to do if I have a guest around. Because I've never had a guest before.
The only person I've ever let in to my personal abode was Payne and he got comfortable on his own.
With Destiny here though, I want everything to be perfect.
"So you live alone in this whole place?" She asked curiously as she spun around slowly in my wide living room.
I nodded and placed the two cases down in a corner, fighting off the bitter feeling when she said the horrible word.
Alone.
"Yeah, I tried keeping a dog once. But after it died, I didn't have it in me to get another pet."
Story of my life.
She nodded and strode around, her red dress flowing beautifully. She paused and looked at me, "You've never had anyone over before?"
I nodded slowly and she gave me a look but smiled right after, "Invite me to have a seat."
"I'm sorry?"
"Invite me to have a seat Eros."
I gulped, I loved my name more the more she said it, "Have a seat Destiny."
Her smile widened and she strode over to sit on my white sofa set. I walked over and sat right next to her, her scent intoxicated me.
I loved it.
More so tonight.
"Ask me if I would like a drink," she adjusted her skirt and glanced up at me, her sultry eyes gazing into mine.
I couldn't help leaning into her, "Would you like a drink Princess?"
She giggled and leaned away, "I would like a glass of water thank you."
I took a whiff of her scent and sighed. She's so good.
I stood up and went to the kitchen to grab some water for her before walking back out. Her eyes were everywhere, taking everything in.
Was my house odd to her? Was it not to her liking? Does she want to leave?
I set the cup on the coffee table and she reached out to take it, "Thank you."
She drank and I felt my mouth go dry just watching her drink from my cup. I'm going crazy.
"What was it that you wanted to show me?" She asked and my mind snapped back to reality.
"It's in my study, I'll take you," I got up quickly and grabbed the two cases.
She followed closely behind me to my basement and I did all the security checks, the door slid open and I stepped in.
"Welcome back Master Eros," my security system greeted me.
"Thank you, I have a gues-"
"Welcome Miss Destiny Paige," the system called out and I stared at Destiny as she came in.
What the-
"Wow, even the Gods have a system to detect who I am," she mumbled sarcastically.
Well technically no.
"I guess," I agreed absentmindedly and made a mental note to check what was wrong with the security.
"Set up the pairing system for me please," I called into the space and the whiring of the machines turned up louder. The holograms flashed on my huge working table, images and angles of different people appearing on the floating lights.
I kept my cases and hung my bow on its stand, for a moment forgetting that I wasn't alone.
"Is this really one of Medusa's snake head?" Destiny called out and I turned to her.
Well, this is awkward.
"Yes it is, I chopped one of it off on a dare," I explained, begging in my mind that she wouldn't pry any further.
"That sounds gory. How did you do it? I mean she can turn you into stone with just one look right?"
Ah well.
"Technically you have to look into her eyes for her to do so. I managed to bring down her defences. Just enough to slice that thing off her," I walked over to my holograms, trying hard to fight the annoying sick feeling within me.
Medusa is nothing compared to Destiny. Though that was still an interesting experience.
"How did you do it? How was she like? I'm just guessing it's a she, was she beautiful or ugly?" Destiny asked curiously.
I sighed, for once in my life I'm regretting fucking a supernatural being.
I gestured for her to come to me and she made her way over, her sweet scent filling my personal space.
I loved every bit of it.
I put my arms out and she eyed me but stepped into my embrace carefully, "Babe, I fucked her."
