Achilles

Ep. 2 Not so bad

Ep. 2 Not so bad

Aug 06, 2022

Eventually, I found an empty cave as the sun was setting. Hanging overhead, sparse clouding with the orange, light pink, and dark blue gradient of the sky, splashing onto them. The bulky trees stretched, piercing the sky infinitely, framing the indescribable beauty that only allowed me to utter a single word amongst its symphony. "wow."

'Maybe this won't be so bad' I turned around, now facing the cave, still in a trance but after a short while of looking at my sleeping arrangments reality set in as I realized I have to sleep in a cave.

"Nahhhh, this sucks," saying as my face soured with disappointment.

I took my peach-colored hoodie off using it as a blanket and could only pray my white t-shirt and sweatpants wouldn't get too dirty. As I drifted into unconsciousness a fleeting thought left my head, 'Is this place even Earth?' I woke up a few hours later to a bug twice the length of my head with many segments, much like a centipede, crawling over my face "AHAH" I jumped to my feet launching it off of me and shaking the rest of my body in disgust.

"I NEED to find civilization,"

I grabbed my hoodie and wiped it around before leaving the cave. I again walked in a radome direction hoping to find a creature or person I wouldn't mind either way, just something other than more trees. I started thinking of what happened yesterday, the notifications I got after looking at the evil sap. Maybe this isn't Earth, but how would I have gotten myself stuck in another world? Why would I be here? There's a lot that I'm missing besides some strange goop on the side of a tree isn't much in the way of proof. I swiftly stopped my momentum and took a step back, dodging A rock that flew to where I would have been. About the size of a fist, the rock lay there on the ground. "Huh" is all I could say upon finding the culprit, a rock one-third my height with arms and legs, it seemed just as surprised as me, or at least I think so. I couldn't really tell because it didn't have a face. I inspected the rock as it stayed there stunned for a few seconds before slowly turning around and trying to run away, though at a snail's pace. Its little arms wagged back in forth while I walked beside it, studying the cutest rock I had ever seen, well I guess the only cute rock I'd seen.

[Lower Rock Golem lv.1:
????????]

"Huh," this is the same notification I got yesterday from the Identification skill? Yesterday I was in shock, tired, and frankly, didn't want to believe it. After some time, sleep, and then seeing a rock golem I, understandably, gave up. Most likely, my suspicions were right. This wasn't Earth, or, I was just crazy. I stopped walking as this realization hit me, to shortly after start walking again with my arms stretching over my head.

"Either way, I'm ok with this. I was getting bored anyway and this new world seems like it'll be fun," A wicked smile found its way on my face as I thought about what I could do with my newfound freedom in this seemingly magical world full of astonishing creatures, my hands now interlocked holding my head from behind. I can't wait to make all this world has to offer mine. I eventually saw something shiny that dragged me out of my well of thoughts, a small lake or more like a very big deep pond that reflected the light of the morning into my eyes though there was more to it than that. I walked up to it trying to use my skill, focusing on this rather curious body of water.

[Small Mana Lake:
?????????]

"huh," my expression wiped away with only that sullen sound echoing around me. What's the point of having an identification skill if it can't IDENTIFY anything? Then something else drew my attention near the edge of the lake a few feet from where I was standing, the water started to bubble with waves forming. I instinctively jumped back anticipating an attack, when a perfect ball formed from the water popped out, landing on the ground close by with a slap but the water ball didn't brake. I looked at it curiously as I saw a crystal at the center of the water. I identified it to see

Nothing, "I should have guessed."
