Oh, yes. I thought I deserved all the shit in my life too. You learn to accept traumatic experience as part of life by telling yourself that you've been a bad person and deserved it. It's ok while it helps you to live, but at some point you start to think "hm.. If I'm such bad person, deserve the punishment, being left, beaten, raped, that means I cannot possibly deserve anything good"
