Appearance: Demons have a human form and a demon
form. The demon form tends to have
reddish skin and horns, and some demons will also have wings (a genetic
trait). To Vist, demons always have
horns (and wings where applicable) and have a reddish tint to their skin.
Abilities: Demon magic is somewhat versatile, but the most common uses are to turn a demon invisible and, in modern times, to erase technology and temporarily pause people/wipe their minds for a few minutes’ worth of time. Some police forces try to recruit demons for this ability to help protect supernaturals from being caught on camera or people remembering seeing a supernatural do something, if the demon is able to get on scene in a short amount of time. Another common use for demon magic is to create a weapon made of red demon magic, with the weapon type depending on the user’s preference. Because the weapon is made of magic, it is not limited in the same way as traditional weapons and is also more potent against some natural defenses, such as dragon scales.
Demons are also physically tough and tend to be muscular and/or strong. They can survive a lot of damage and are difficult to kill.
Alignment: Demons use a variant on dark magic. They tend to keep to themselves, but respect naga, in particular. They are not regularly allied with any particular supernaturals.
Lifespan: Demons tend to live about 800-900 years.
Personality: Demons are often gruff and come across as grumpy, but they are willing to help if asked, even if they grumble about it. Demons are fairly focused on keeping their pandemonium strong and safe and are not delighted if they are dragged out of their comfort zone.
Known hybrid variants: Unknown. Demons do not often marry non-demons, so knowledge on this issue is limited.
Example members: Judah, Selene, Luke, and Jo
Demons appear in Pandemoniuim, which covers demon life the most, but also appear in Submerged, Hunted, and in several locations in TME.
