Appearance: Vist see dragons in human form as having scaled skin, dragon wings, and dragon tails. The color of the scales and wings and the type of tail will depend on the dragon’s type. In dragon form, the size of the dragon will depend on its age. Dragons are all heavily armored and have wings that are slightly translucent but very difficult to tear. Dragons come in colors that roughly correspond to their magical types.
Abilities: Dragons physically can rip through metal and stone with their teeth and claws. Their tails often have spikes and they may have spines on their back as well, to prevent attackers from getting close. Additionally, they have an immense amount of magic available to them, though the magic type will depend on the magic of the dragon. Fire dragons are most common, but water, ice, poison, earth, and air dragons can also exist. Dragons can use magic in their human forms as well (although it is not as strong as in their dragon form) and all dragons, regardless of magic type, are immune to fire damage.
Dragons also have magic that can bind people to promises made. The dragon has to use it while the individual speaks, so it cannot be used retroactively or without the individual present.
Additionally, dragon hearth magic is quite active and is likely to permanently injure or maim someone attempting to break in. It is strongly advised that one does not attempt to break into a dragon home because dragons are very territorial and not happy if someone attempts to enter their home uninvited. Please be prepared to be chomped on if attempted.
Alignment: Dragon magic is a combination of nature and elemental magic but is not aligned with either dark or light magic. Dragons are generally viewed by all supernaturals as a good ally to have, but they are cautious in accepting official alliances because they hate to break alliances and are long-lived enough they want to make sure that their alliances won’t be something they live to regret.
Lifespan: Dragons usually live a few thousand years. They do eventually start to age and can die of old age, but they’re more likely to basically just get tired of living and sort of die of tiredness. The average dragon lifespan is probably about 3,000 years old, although there are dragons who live longer. Whether they’re truly immortal if they don’t give up has actually never been determined.
Dragons are very difficult to kill and are likely to survive and regenerate body parts as necessary.
Personality: Dragons tend to be very territorial. This generally means they like to get involved in their community to make it better and safer, but if the community itself is threatened, they may be willing to transform, even in front of humans, to protect it. They will not often bother people who are not bothering them/their territory, so as long as someone behaves within their territory and waits to commit mayhem and murder until they’re outside the dragon’s domain, the dragon will likely be fine with it. Some dragons also like shiny things.
