Eric woke up with a start. The dust around him was settling as he struggled to get up. Fumbling around, he twisted his time dial to quicken the search for his foe. After a few minutes, he found Jon, who was sitting slumped, pinned on the concrete behind him by a metal rod. “Always the hero of justice, ever since we were kids.” His hoarse voice cried. “You could have joined me. That fantasy could have been true… we had our sandbox…but you… you… “ “No.” Eric said, “No, I have lived many years, I am old enough to know: there is no such thing as a hero of justice.” Jon laughed “of course, but you still think of yourself as one” Steeling his heart, Eric used the Chronolizer to recall a blade and replied, “ Of course not, I am no hero of justice, I am simply.. the enemy of evil” his blade sunk into Jons chest, and a different, colder blade sunk into his own. After a few silent moments, he sank to his knees and let out a primordial cry. A cry filled with raw emotions. A cry for his friend…
