"I'm sorry, Sylas. I don't feel like you've been transparent around me.. almost like you've been lying to me about who you really are." Reyna said softly, her eyes looking at mines. "Don't take this the wrong way, you're a great person but to me it just feels like you're forcing it."

My heart skips a beat, pumping blood throughout my body rapidly. My eyes start to lose focus, fading everything into a blur. I've just been broken up with, the one semblance of happiness washed away like a tide rushing in to sweep the sandcastles from their structural form. I practically felt my heart shatter into a million pieces, with each one spreading away until there is nothing left. I look back at here with quivering eyes, letting her stare wash over me.

"I'm sorry I wasn't enough, I'm sorry I had to disappoint you so much." I replied in a low tone, unsure if she had heard what I said. I started backing up with the urge to run away, to cry in the corner of my room until all the tears have left my body.

"Wait, I never said that. You've never disappointed me once, Sylas." said Reyna, confusion washing over her face. She took a small step forward, extending her right arm towards me with her now watery eyes boring into me. She opened her mouth but before being able to utter another word, I turned around and sprinted.

"Wait, Sylas!" she exclaimed, now chasing after me. I can't do this, I thought to myself. I cant let her see me cry. She is going to feel disgusted that someone like me is crying in this situation. Using all the despair I have coursing through my body, i injected it all into my legs and just ran. No sense of direction, no destination in mind. I just needed to get out of there. I take a glance back and see her basically on my tail, not even 3 feet behind me. I knew she was fast, but I didn't think she was this fast. Before I could turn around however, I feel my entire body get hit and an indescribable pain radiates throughout my body. She got hit too, both of us were too careless and got ran into by a truck of some sorts.

I hit the ground and feel my now mutilated body scramble against the road. This is it huh? Dying to a truck after getting broken up with. Of course with my luck this ended this way. The irony is too funny, but why did she chase after me? Not only am i going to die, but she is as well. With all the the strength I have left that I can muster, I glance towards her direction and see her lifeless body lying there on the floor. Feeling my muscles giving up on me, I lay my head down, peering into the redish blanket above. It's warm. It must be my blood staining the road, emptying out of me in an urgent yet graceful manner. Everything around me starts losing color, getting replaced by a glint of red and white. I can hear the muffled voices of the truck driver, unable to comprehend what he's saying. Damn it. In the end I do die a miserable death, just like Father had said. A flashback of him resurfaces, reminding me of when he had vividly made clear how I was going to be miserable and worthless and die such way, his eyes tourmenting my own. As the colors start to fade and turn black, I close my eyes, the pain withering away.

After what felt like several minutes, a beam of white light enters my view, almost as if it was welcoming me. So this is the light that people see when they die. Am I headed to the afterlife? No, I didn't believe in that. Was i going to just stare at this white beam for the rest of eternity? No wait, I hear voices. They were mumbled, but I could barely make them out. They were getting more clear with every passing second until I could make out a single line.

"Congratulations, you've given birth to a healthy boy." said what sounded like a man, maybe in his late 50s gudging from how deep and grainy it sounds.

I slowly opened my eyes and immediately regretted it, colors of every palette assaulting my retinas. Shit, was I just born? And why are these lights so damn bright. As my eyes got used to the vibrant light, I started assessing my current predicament. I was just birthed after getting man handled by a truck. Thank god I can understand this language I, that would be hell to try and learn a new language.

As my eyes finally gave way to the yellow toned light, I made out what I assumed to be the doctor. And judging from how he looks, I was right in saying he was around his 50s. Grey hair up to his ears, and a beard stuble that looked unnatural. His eyes looked tired with gray patches under them. Man, this guy looks like he wants to go home. After that, I looked behind him and was struck with confusion. This doesn't look like a hospital, more-so a house. Where the hell am I? The wilderness? No, even they would have at least a hospital or a medical attention building. Then I noticed the doctor was not wearing a white gown nor anything for that matter that resembles he is a doctor. And wait what the hell we are on the floor.

I look to my left and saw a man who I presumed was my father. Short black hair with piercing grey eyes, he looked to also be in shape judging from how he was built and musclular. That's when I noticed a grin, that kind of grin you get when you pull that one character after so long in a gacha game. "Hi little guy, I'm your dad. Wow you sure do look like a potato though." the man said, grinning even harder after what I'd call a presumpuous insult. "Really, Tyson? he was just born and you're already insulting our baby." replied what sounded like a woman. I turned around and am met with the gaze of the woman who had just birthed me. She's beautiful, long flowing gray hair with soft blue eyes. She had this sort of loving look that I can't describe, but I assume this is what all babies feel when they first look at their mother. Unlike Tyson, she seemed elegant, almost as if the world revolved around her and under her command. I could also make out what seemed like a dimple under her left eye, right besides her nose. She seemed to be in her mid twenties, but held this determined look on her pale and weakened face. Wait, how did this man score this beauty? I turned back to my father and took a better look at him, eyes less blurry then the first time I had observed him. He had a sharp jawline with a scar running across his right eye. Nothing too big, more like a scar you'd get when youre being too rough and fall. He also gave off this charasmatic charm, supported by his sharp eyebrows. Okay I can see how he had gotten her, he was overall a handsome looking man who also appeared to be in his mid twenties.

"Erm, it's just a little bit of fun dear. Also doc, is our newborn a dud? He hasn't cried yet. He's just been looking at us like a little doll." spoke my father. Yup he is an idiot.

The doctor turned his head towards my father and cleared his throat, clearly unamused by his snarky remarks. "Sir, there have been cases where newborns don't cry, so nothing to be worried about. Mrs. Cyprus, I suggest you get as much rest as possible and Mr. Cyprus, please inform me if something happens to Noah."

What followed the next few weeks were the most probably the hardest time I've had living both lives. Being an infant, I had no little to no control over my limbs. The best I could do was wave and flail my arms around, but that gets tiring fast. I had no control over my fingers either, they just kind of stayed the way they were no matter how hard I tried to move them. This was absolute hell. Every little touch felt like getting tickled too, Never have I ever felt so weak and frustrated. Only plus was I was getting breastfed, I promise you it's not because I'm a pervert.

Well, at least I hope not. Through my 18 years of living on Earth, I've never portrayed any heinous and perverted intentions onto anyone. Not even towards Reyna.

The room I've been dormant in I assumed were my parents'. The walls were a dark brown with a nightstand, a bed, and few other pieces of furnature splayed around. There was no electricity either, but there was something else that completely blew my infant mind.

Magic.

Yes, as it has turned out I have been isekai'd. How fun.

The way I found this out was when my moronic father accidenty injured me doing only god knows what kind of movements with me, and my mother straight up healed me. No medicine, no bandaids, no healing kisses, none of that, but full blown hands over my injured limbs and after a few seconds I am as good as new. I can only describe it as a faint hum imbuing a soft green light. A healer mom and what I presume to be a brawler father? Oh you know for sure I'm gonna have a fantastic life.

At least, hopefully a much better one, then again it can't possibly be worse than my previous one.
