Sylas Wyatt is your unorthodox high school student. Intelligent, cunning and handsome and a glance it's as if he had no flaws. He was loved by everyone around him and even having the most popular girl in school, Reyna Sinclair, as his beloved girlfriend, many perceived him to have the perfect life. However, underneath that façade was a boy who had been deeply scarred from his past. He was scared to open up to anyone so he put up a front to hide his insecurities and emotions. One summer evening, Reyna out of the blue breaks up with him, confronting him of his inhuman personality and describing it as "made up". As he felt his emotions explode with despair, he ran away, afraid to show his true emotions around her. Reyna, feeling guilty, chases after him, uncertain what the boy would do. Due to their lack of attention however, both Sylas and Reyna are struck by an oncoming truck, leaving their bodies lifeless.

Now reborn in a world with magic and otherworldly creatures, Sylas has the opportunity to start from fresh. No more hiding, no more fronts, he was determined to never let those scars haunt him in this new world. Unbeknownst to him, Reyna had also been reincarnated as his neighbor, constructing new problems for the two to face. As the two learn to live this new life and co-exist with each other, a looming threat emerges and threatens everything the two hold dear to them, binding the once couple to face the challenges ahead.
