"Is she going to be ok?" Lucy asked as my Mom just about finished cleaning her up. She was with her from the moment we walked in while I went with Dad to find her parents. There aren't a lot of elves in our village so finding them was pretty easy, so we came back with them.

"My poor baby.." The elven woman walked up to her unconcious child, tears rolling down her face. "How could they do this to her.. to us..? My poor baby didn't deserve any of this.." she said, clutching onto her young daughters hands.

We all looked at eachother, our parents visibly disgusted with the situation. Before I had a chance to utter a word, my father spoke up.

"It is truly disgusting and vile that they targeted her. The racism this village is facing is really just unacceptable, I couldn't bear the heartache if it were to happen to my son." His face was fierce and determined, a compelete 180 of his normal personality. My dad looked back towards me, his strength escaping his face and relaxing into a soft, warm frown.

As the sky faded into a dark canvas of speckled white, the rest of us spent our time together in the living room, our parents engaged in a heavy conversation. Lucy and I had walked off into my room to continue practicing, this time focusing on our mana orbs. We had a appointment with someone called a Practioner to see how strong we are and to get our records officially listed, a major turning point in our lives. Here is when we decide if we want to go to school or do something more grandiose, like say adventuring. I hadn't really thought of it until now but I think adventuring would be fun, after all my parents had been doing it for their entire life.

"Hmm, I think you're gonna get a better physical grade than I will, but a lower MA grade." Lucy says, releasing her focus on her Mana Orb. Unlike my triangular prism, hers took on a more diamond shape, signifying she was a spellbound anyways.

"I mean yeah that makes sense, you are a spellbound you know." I reply, standing up and stretching my legs. "I wonder who is more valuable, a striker or a spellbound?"

"It's obviously the spellbound, we can shoot magic from far away!" she exclaimed, taking up a triumphant pose. "All strikers would be good for are taking hits hehe."

Before I could speak, we get interrupted to the faint sound of knocking on my door. Lucy and I take a glance at eachother, unsure who it might be.

"Come in." I state, sitting back down on the floor.

The door opens and the elf girl Robin is standing on the other side, clearly nervous.

"Oh my god you're ok!" Lucy expresses, running towards the girl and giving her a hug. "You had us worried when you fainted like that."

Robin, caught by surprise, gives her a smile and returns the hug. "Thank you guys for helping me, it means a lot. They have been bullying me for a long time now."

"Who are they?" I asked giving the two girls space on the floor to sit. "They really seemed to dislike you."

Taking a seat on the wooden floor, Robin thought for a few seconds before answering. "I think it's because I wouldn't play with them. After I said no they started being really mean and called me names.." Lucy looked at her with anger, not towards her, but towards the 3 boys who were assaulting her when we came and saved her.

"Don't worry about them anymore! You can play with us, we are pretty strong too hehe." said Lucy after a brief pause, looking at Robin again with a big smile. "We can teach you to defend yourself too!"

Returning the smile, Robin gave Lucy a hug. "Thank you, that means a lot to me.."

"Actually, we can find how strong you are right now." Getting up, I stuck my hands out and got into a stance. "It's just like this, but you need to awaken your insignia first."

Shifting her focus to me, Robin looked at me with a troubled gaze. "Umm, are you sure? I don't know if I can even do magic.."

Lucy, now getting up to stand, helped Robin up. "C'mon! You got this. Here, it's just like.. this!" Lucy extended her arms and focused, bringing out her Mana Orb, taking in a brilliant white hue. "You need to awaken your insignia to do this tho, so extend your arms out."

Robin looked at her and finally gave in, stretching her arms far out. "Like this?"

"Mhm! Now close your eyes and focus on your back, and try to like, imagine yourself moving the air around towards it." Lucy replied, easing up and waling towards her. "That's how I did it anywas."

After a few minutes of us showing her how to do it, she awakened her insignia, brandishing her back with 2 tallies. I was surprised, considering 2 tallies at our current age was really rare as we havent begun the transition phase yet. But it seems like neither of them really knew how the tally system worked, makes sense after all I am the only one who has read the books.

"Woah, so I'm like able to do magic now?" Robin asked, a smile captivating her face.

"Yup, pretty much. Now we just need to find out what kind of mage you are." I replied, walking up to her to help her get into position. "This will be really hard the first time so we will make sure you don't fall, ok? Do the same position but this time try pushing that energy out of your palms."

Robin looks at me and nods, face determined. She closes her eyes and extends her arms out once more, this time attempting to push out her mana. An orb of mana started to form, growing with every passing second. As the room lit up with the hum and glow of mana, something seemed off. Yes, the orb was enlargening but it didn't have a color to it. Unlike my ice blue or Lucy's white, Robins was almost translucent, only a swirl of something swishing inside.

Robin opened her eyes slowly and looked at the orb, now the shape of the same diamond Lucy's had been. We all looked at it with curiosity, unsure what element it was.

"Umm, maybe try touching it?" Lucy said, kneeling in to get a better look. "You can tell what it is if you touch it."

Looking unsure, Robin begrudgingly nodded and poked the floating shape. All of a sudden a gust of wind erupted out of the diamond, blowing her hair back.

"Wind! Your affinity is wind mana arts!" I yelp, jumping up and down. "And because it's a diamond, that means youre a spellbound like Lucy, congrats Robin!"

She looked at me and smiled, her face growing red. "Does that mean I can practice with you guys, if you don't mind of course? I don't want to be hurt by those bullies again."

Lucy pulled the girl into another tight hug, releasing her focus off her mana orb. It dissipated into nothingness, sending motes of colorless energy flying about.

"Of course silly! Let's go tell your parents, I think they will be happy to hear the news."
