We have arrived at the beach and I see two boys sitting on the beach. It's Jace. He looks different with his shirt off. I get out of the car and walk over to him and Max. “ Hey stranger.” That's all I say, wow I sound so pathetic, I say to myself. He turns his head and looks at me, his gray eyes sparkling with little gold and blue flecks. 

    “Hey Rylee what's up.” I set the beach bag down next to him and laid my towle out. 

        “Nothing much”. I say this as I am taking my jeans and shirt off. I then dig through the bag for the sun screen and my sunglasses. “Hey Jace, could you put sunscreen on me”. I say.

    “Sure”. I stand up and he stands up too. He shasks the spray on a bottle of sunscreen. I stand in an x position and he sprays me. He first sprays my back, then front, and finally sprays some in my hands so I can rub it on my face.  

     "Thanks Jace." I say. I then sit next to him and grab my sunglasses from my bag. "So what should we do?" I ask if I hear a voice.

      "Go swimming of course." It's mallory. "Come on, we don't got all day." says malory. Jace stands up and puts his hand out like he did at the party last night. I take it. It's warm, sandy, and has calluses on it. 

   I have gotten up and Jace lets me stand for a second. Then whoosh. I'm running with Jace into the ice cold pacific ocean.  

    I'm in the water with Jace "Damn you Jace, damn you." 

         "Hey I'm sorry you ruined your makeup." he is smirking when he says that's. That's when I saw a little kid with a bucket for a sand castle. I walk over to the kid and say.

   "Hey buddy can I borrow that? I'll give it right back.'' The kid passes over the bucket and I run straight back into the water. I empty the remaining sand grains and fill it up with water. Then I walk over to Jace and pour it on his head. 

    He's shocked. his mouth is opened and I can see some salt water going into it. "That's it you're on." is all he says. I ran to the sand and kept running. I throw the bucket at the kid and he catches it. I ran straight back into the water. 

  I cup some water in my hands and throw it at him. He then throws some at me. That's when I'm furious but happy. I run in well, walk in the water and jump on his back. For no reason I started to laugh. And that's when I see something small and black on the back of his ear. “Hey Jace, what is this?” 

     “ Oh that black thing? It's a ruined tattoo from Mortal instruments. Have you read that book?.” 

    “Yes.”I say.

         “Do you have the books?”

   “No.”

 “Well today I’ll buy you your very first book”

     “That sounds cool.” Then I’m pushed off Jace’s back. I feel water go in my mouth. I close my mouth and squint my eyes closed so no salt will get in them. 

    I am swimming to the surface and I reach. I let out a big breath and spit out the water. I open my eyes. I walk to shore and sit down on my towel. I wrap myself in it because I'm freezing cold. I whip my eyes and see Jace, Max, and Mallory messing around in the water. I then grab my sunglasses from the towel and put them on. 

    Jace walks out “Hey what's wrong?”       

 “Oh nothing”. He grabs the towel next to me and puts it on his head and shakes the water out. He sets his hand on the sand and sits down.   

     “ Are you sure Rylee? I mean I didn't want you to get hurt or anything.” He sets his hand on my back.

   “You know what Jace? Do you want to go to all booked up now?” I say try to sound like I want to let go of the conversation.

   “Sure we can take my car.” He stands up and puts his hand out. I take it.

         “ What about the stuff?” I say.

    “You can take your stuff like a towel, wallet, sunglasses, and clothes,” he says. I grab the things he said and we walk over to the car. It's black and shiny. 

   I walk over to the passenger side and yank on the door. It's locked. Jace is smirking like he knew I was going to do that. Then I hear a beep boop. The car is open. I opened it. And I see the seats are tan and leather. I sit down and buckle myself in. “To all booked up.” Jace says as he starts the car.
