The gang of people contained all kinds of thugs. Big, small, weak ones with weapons and strong ones cracking their knuckles. The ones in the front however were holding guns. They were regular pistols but due to the large number of them, it would be difficult to do anything.
“What did you just say.” The gangster in the front said.
“I said piss off.” Shībài zhě repeated. “If you think that I’ll just hand this kid over, you have another thing coming.”
“Hey! Can’t you see what’s happening here.” The man screamed with anger and humiliation in his voice. “You’re surrounded. With a single command, everyone will fire at you.”
Shībài zhě turned to the wall behind him and put the kid down.
“Can I trust you to not run away?” He then said to him.
The kid nodded. Shībài zhě then turned to David. And said, “Watch and learn.”
He turned back towards the thugs. The thug in the front then started to talk again,
“Hey what are you pla…. “
But before he could finish his sentence, Shībài zhě had performed an uppercut, lifting him from the ground. Before the others with the guns could react, Shībài zhě took the gun from the thug in the front to shoot the guns out of their hands. They were too slow to respond to this as well as Shībài zhě moved in and began beating each of them with a variation of kicks and punches. Once the thugs in the back realized what was happening, they all rushed Shībài zhě. But due to the large group and the way they were packed, many of them couldn’t use their weapons which worked to Shībài zhě’s favor. He hit each of them with such ferocity and power that they were all knocked out in just one hit.
David was watching all of this from the back along with the kid. He was already impressed by Shībài zhě’s skills from his previous fights but this one was far beyond his comprehension. The speed, ferocity, and pure skill that Shībài zhě was showing was beyond anything he had ever seen in his life.
“He’s strong.” The kid said.
David looked at him and asked, “Are you talking to me?”
He nodded then replied as he looked at David. “Can’t others see you?”
“No. Only two other people besides you have seen me.”
“Does that make me special?”
But before David could answer, one of the thugs came for the kid. Shībài zhě had his back turned so he didn’t know what was happening. David tried to tackle the man, but he only went through him. The man was getting close to the kid. Then David screamed, “MR. ZHě.”
Shībài zhě instantly looked back and saw the man. Then in a single second, Shībài zhě had reached them from afar and before anyone could register what was happening, Shībài zhě smashed the man’s head into the ground so hard that the concrete below cracked.
“You both okay?” Shībài zhě asked David and the kid.
“Yeah. I’m fine.” David said as he got up and walked towards the kid, “Are you okay?”
The kid nodded.
“I think we should get out of here before more people come.” Shībài zhě said as he picked the kid back up.
“Agreed,” David answered as he followed Shībài zhě.
“Time to head back to that old man for some answers and getting this kid treated.”
“What’s your name?” David asked the kid. But he saw that he was asleep in Shībài zhě’s arms.
“I think we should let him rest.”
“Yeah. I guess so.”
