What happened

We started watching the movie while my phone was vibrating like crazy with spam texts from my mom. I did get a call from somebody, but then I silenced my phone. The movie finished and kyle was passed out on the spot he was laying. 

“He looked so cute,” I said in my head. Wait what am I thinking?

I turned around and grabbed my phone to see what my mother and the missing phone call were actually from Avery. I decided to call her back and see how things were going. My phone is ringing and I hear the faint ringtone that Avery uses for me. I look out the window and saw Avery and Mio hiding in a bush, looking for something. Avery was trying to silence her phone while they were freaking out. I snuck out behind the bush they were hiding in.

“What we look-” I managed to say before Mio slapped me. 

“Oh shoot. Sorry Exer, I didn’t, um, we thought you were someone else.”

“Um, what happened to you? Did Mio really slap you that hard?” Avery asked, looking at my bruised-up face.

“Um, I’ll tell you later. But what are we looking out for?” I asked.

I took a look at Mio, who was covering her arms hiding something.

“Hey, what happened to you two?” I asked.

None of them would look at me.

“We kind of bumped into the Goons and Jace. They were saying something about what Kyle did and we needed to get a “fair share”, or something like that. I managed kicking out of the goons grip while sucker punching, that idiot.” Avery whispered. “But they’re tracking us down. Can we please hang out with you guys till these thugs are gone?”

“I’m sure Miko wouldn’t mind, but she’ll ask questions,” I told her.

“Let's just hope that won't be needed.”

“Yeah, kind of hard not to ask questions with bruises and cuts,” I stated.

“Ok, true but at least we can hang out at the house until the mob spawns out.”
