“Yess! Finally I got a +1 follower yesterday let’s fucking gooo!” An adrenaline filled shriek of excitement escaped from between his thin dry copper brown lips. Unexplainable thrill mixed with gratitude had consumed his young heart at seeing that there were people that actually took the time to watch his videos, and to even choose to follow his growing journey was truly awesome.

“Oh great! It’s that mean commenter again, dude hates me for no reason, I mean what did I do to them, and since when has it been frowned upon to try and mimic and learn from those you idolize that are already at the top of their careers.” Said  Audrey in an annoyed toned voice, as he wiped away some sweat trickling down the side of his face from the heat even though, it was already around nine in the evening.

Before he started doing U-tube videos, he was living an unfulfilled life as a professional karate contender because he was not that gifted academically, but excelled at using his body which led to him getting dragged into doing martial arts. 

At first he tried to simply enjoy it, but the expectations from those close to him had really taken a toll to his mental health whenever he did not meet those expectations and, was called a failure or just looking at their judgmental gazes pushed him to the brink. 

When he was still training hard for his karate nationals he got into a major accident for overdoing it and stayed in the infirmary for over 2 months. He missed the tournament however, that’s when he discovered U-tube.

After getting consumed by the U-Tube Rabbit hole for over 2 months he was completely enamored by the art form of creating videos even though he knew nothing about filming, editing, planning, together with the constraints of living in a third world country with less populations than some large U-tube creators.

The news that he could not participate in anymore intense fights did not hit him emotionally and mentally  as hard as the people around him expected.

He had cried over it yes, but he did not dwell on it too long for it to destroy him, but chose to chase his second dream of becoming a content creator in U-Tube all on his own.

Audry took as many helpful lessons in U-Tube, took some courses, and used his funds as a self-defense instructor to buy decent recording equipment for instance the refurbished  Apex computer desktop in front of him, together with his first Shatter 4k camera and basic lighting rings.

He heaved numerous deep soothing breaths with closed eyes to quell his annoyed heart, ‘Okay Audry remember all the lessons and forum blogs that you have read talking about sad a**holes that will hate on you for no reason to bring you down towards their sad lives, just ignore it and focus on the good comments.’  Silently thought the young man, acting as tranquil as a river, and unmovable as a sturdy mounta… ‘Tch!’

“Aaah screw it! Who the f*ck am I kidding?! Time to show this a**hole a piece of my mind.”

A triumphant sigh escaped from Audry’s slim brown lips. “Coach was right! I do need some anger management, shit I don’t even feel good anymore because of that spineless waste of space. Fuck might have even been a little kid for all I know and I just mouthed off on them like that, ahh! Damn it.” Said  Audry in a grumbling tone. He then continued on to the next comment.

“Let’s see here, is this a Bot or something? Sending me links to competitions but it looks too authentic to be a bot typed message since they mentioned my channel name, so I guess It won’t hurt to check this out.” Said Audry having already clicked on the link.

A few brief moments later a new a tab opened up,‘why did it take so long to load the website? Is my WiFi speed lagging again or is my subscription about to be terminated?’ He thought.

“Of Course I’m not a robot darn it!” Said Audry who annoyingly clicked on the different types of Dragon pictures, which for the first time in his life in the Internet he had to admit they were astounding pieces of art that, if it wasn't for dragons being just some folklore myths he would swear that someone might have actually taken a picture of the fire-breathing reptilian behemoths.

The clicking mouse chimes reverberated inside his semi-dark L.E.D blue lit bedroom, part office and part games room. The verification took longer than he had expected with each passing image becoming more vivid and shockingly realistic. 

“Woah! These images could definitely make a fortune in the NFT market, wonder who is the original creator of all this.” Said  Audry who was awestruck by the fine details of the verification images.

The more he answered the more skeptical he became. He wondered if really this was a scam or not, as the questions were not really gunning out for his private information such as bank accounts, telling him to pay a fee because he won a iphone out of nowhere or, other information that could have him finding himself traumatized and sleeping in the streets as a homeless person.

He inevitably gave in to his inquisitive nature to see just what was going to be the end results of this so called competition, that honestly felt more like a survey questionnaire from some of his university students he taught self defense techniques some years back.

Audry watched the giant hourglass that appeared on his screen oscillate up and down till his eyes glazed over and his eyelids got heavy from the boredom of waiting, ‘I’ll just catch some sleep while I wait for the loading screen to finish up with the results, I wonder what I will win though?” He said, pulling open a drawer beside him to take out a white bottle of pain killers.

He swallowed the pills dry and with a grunt struggled to stand up on his injured right foot ankle. He then sauntered over to his bed with heavy and light foot steps mixed together, to finally plop down on his soft plush mattress and buried his head into the squishy pillow drifting off to the dream world with a sigh. 

Hours after Audry had finished with the questionnaire the hourglass abruptly stopped rotating, and it began to glitch heavily.
